A fanart for the movie, I wanted to draw Merida for some time but she is not very detailed on this piece. xD*sigh* I need to improve those backgrounds. *sob*

I love just how whimsical this whole piece is. From the horse's tail to Merida's dress and hair and even the blue wisps, the coloring in this piece gives off an illusion-like feel to it. I feel that if I look away from it for just a moment, it'll be gone. Just like a flickering wisp in a deep forest.
I also love how dynamic Merida's pose is in comparison to the calm and resigned horse. It's a nice touch. The light filtering down on them is also genius, as it immediately draws my eyes to the center of the piece. I wonder what she's about to bring down.
You captured the magic of Brave very well, and I look forward to more of your work.
