I absolutely love how the focus is on her eyes. They seem to capture you and then draw you into the facial expression. And then the softening of the focus of the background really highlights the true artistic beauty that you have captured.

If you don't do sport I don't see a reason for D3.

I used to coach gymastics at the elite level so sports would be important. Does the 700 have a full frame sensor? I really need to start doing my research on that model. I just dont like the cost of the D3.

Actually D700 is good for sport too but with the vertical grip, the frame rate will go from 5fps to 8fps. Focusing speed are the same between the 2. You might want to wait a bit longer before you buy it as Canon 5D MkII was just released so price will drop for sure.
