I've noticed a trend in Chipmunk fanfiction...Most writers seem to like to kill off Miss Miller, usually for one of three reasons...
1. They don't like Miss Miller at all (and I've heard some people say they feel sorry for The Chipettes having to be in her care).
2. They want to experiment and see how The Chipettes would cope with Miss Miller's death and/or having to live with someone else (usually, her death doesn't bother them, and they end up with some abusive beyotch who beats them to a pulp).
3. Pure shock factor (which is what most of the M-rated fics are all about, no plots, no story structure, just trying to shock the readers).
Personally, I don't plan on killing off Miss Miller anytime soon... as a matter of fact, for the trilogy I'm working on, The Chipettes' relationship with Miss Miller will grow stronger and stronger.
But that's besides the point, this is actually just my little tribute to Dody Goodman, who provided the voice of Miss Miller; she died on June 22.

No, Miss Miller didn't die, persay, but Dody Goodman, who did her voice did this past summer, and this was my tribute to her memory.

That almost reminds me of this really terribly fic I once read where Simon and Jeanette were married... but Jeanette cheated on Simon with Alvin AND Eleanor, and to get back at her, Simon not only beats the living crap out of her, but he gets all of his buddies together and gang rape her. I mean, WTF is THAT all about?!

There were so many flaws with that story...
1. Jeanette would NEVER cheat on Simon. She wouldn't even dream of it.
2. Even if she did, Simon's too mature and level-headed to lash out at her for her actions; he'd more than likely leave to collect his thoughts, come home, then try to talk to Jeanette about it.
3. Simon has buddies?

Btw, I don't really see anything wrong with shock factor, so long as you don't abuse it to death. I always thought shock factor was a good way of roping in readers at the beginning.

Gah! That's just so sad! Mrs Miller isn't exactly a favorite character of mine (Thus the reason she rarely appears in my fics XD) But still, its very sad to think of her passing.

This is a very heart felt sketch. You did well in capturing the facial expressions on the sad Chipettes. It is truely sad to lose a talented artist such as Dody Goodman (voice of Miss Miller). She played the part well (among other characters).
The only main character I killed off in my Chipmunks Saga fic was Miss Miller (not including the OC characters, aka Simon's friends). But at least I gave her a proper wake. (mainly it was in honor of a dear man whom was like a 2nd father to me that passed away of lung cancer).

(For once, that was not a throwaway gag. In "A Day in the Life", part of the reason the Chipettes move over this side of the Drink is because of the Death of Miss Miller. Not because im a cruely bastard, or hate her, or am just trying and failing at making a decent story and rely soley on shock factor- But because of reason 2- Esperimenting with how they would react, AND Needing one factor in many reasons why they had to move. But, i digress, im sidetracking...)
I did indeed hear the news about Dody Goodman. A Sad loss, indeed...
She will be missed.
