This painting was exhibited (unfinished) as part of my series "Touch & Technofetish" for the group show SEXSELLS: Observations of an Eroticised Consumer Culture. Here's the Tumblr: sexsells2012.tumblr.com/
It accompanies "The Height of Pleasure", and also deals more organically with physical stimulation and sensory pleasure, and the common forms used to express these sensations.
It was interesting hearing people's interpretations of this one
As there was a feminine representative in the other painting, people assumed this would be the male equivalent. This led to some pretty imaginative conclusions, including one horrific cross-section scenario that I'll detail no further...Anyway, this began as male and still has a spermy vibe in some places, but it morphed into something very genderless and more about sensation, perception, and stimulation as part of a mechanised system . The circle motif took on symbolic representation of an egg, then a cell, then an eye.
Yada yada yada, it's just funky and colourful. Haha.

It looks like at jellyfish with a fish in the center soitting water and bubbles...It looks like when you cut a tree and see all the rings in the center of the tree - interesting life this tree has led...There is also somewhat of a dial, like you had on really old landline phones...
I think morphic is the right word for this piece as it changes and almost seem to move. It has the sense of before female/male of life just before it choose one or the other gender...
