I drew this little robot on the back of a post card a while ago and thought he looked so cool that i had to do something with him. I cut him out and sat him on my desk. As I pursued various other projects, he watched over...waiting for his time to shine lol...this was about 3 months ago.This was finished in a bit of a rush (I was using it for an interview I had the next day to get into uni). I started without a concept, I just wanted the robot to be accompanied by more things that had been cut out. Once the squares came and I started playing around with their placement, the idea of what it would all say simply cultivated itself. It was about being imaginative and original - a tornado of ideas and imagination coming out of his head, in contrast to the plain, orderly squares he resided in or was expected to adhere to (as a robot of course).

Hi, i kinda feel i have to fav this... I love the composition and the way the little robot almost looks guilty at having such a confused wonderfully swirlling head in its regular, strait sided world.
I also want to say I've been thinking about tatto designs for a while and this peice has inspired me somewhat to go down one design route... espescially the fish... for some resaon last night i had a massive urge to inculde a tiny surprised fish in the design.... and know i know why... tiny fish caught up in swirling patterns are cool!
