Description 300400 favs owo That's a lot

Aaaaand now we're up to 600 < 3

WHOLY SHIT GUYS OVER 1000 FAVS! THANK YOU!

I made this stamp because often I get told that animation is something solely meant for children.
I, personally, still see animated films in theaters more often than I see live action ones. Some people fail to see that it's just another way of telling a story, not a dumbed down version for children.
Animated movies can tackle very real issues as seriously as any medium. Furthermore, the conflicts can be taken very seriously. Films like The Secret of NIMH, Watership down, Grave of the fireflies, Felidae and more recently Pixar's Up are very serious movies, clearly not meant solely for children.

How to train your dragon was produced by Dreamworks animation. It is loosely based on the novel of the same name by Cressida Cowell

My parents don't agree, but they don't mind if I like cartoons. If they complain, I would just say "at least I'm just watching cartoons and not doing drugs! "
they wouldn't argue xD

Do not tell this to the parents because then the teenagers will not get so easily hentai movies.

This deserves it. I may still be a kid, but I still enjoy watching movies like, well, How to Train your Dragon. It's kinda kidish for my age, but I dun care! I hope I continue to feel this way as I get older

If only they made more cartoons on TV nowadays that are for both Teenagers and Adults.. :/
I hate seeing all that Hannah Montanna, Zoey 101, Sleep-over Club and all the other crap that's shown for us lately..
It's really rare to see a good animation program for us nowadays but once one comes about, it seems to just disappear for no reason
There are plenty of us that want to see more cartoons

Some of it is so bad, I've actually looked to see whats on earlier in the day for the babies,
just to get away from it all. o.o

One day, one day! Have faith. One day we will be able to turn on our TV and watch a cartoon that isn't necessarily aimed at children (that isn't family guy or something like that)
Yes, that will be the day
Clearly, there are plenty of people who love cartoons, because this stamp alone has over 700 favs now!
Just you wait

Hell yeah! We need more animated films that are at least as deep and easy to analyze as literary masterpieces that are typically read in high school English classes!

SimbaTheHuman In reply to Panzerkan [2011-08-11 19:17:05 +0000 UTC]

Walt made animated movies suitable for kids, it really isn't his fault that everyone followed his lead. Besides, the Disney renaissance works are quite dark, so don't go hating on Disney now.

FromDeathAbove In reply to ??? [2011-07-19 23:32:31 +0000 UTC]

Animation is, just like you said, just another form of telling a story. And also, since it's animated, it can actually tell certain stories better, using the visuals alone. You can make the messages more grand, and a part of the world that you're animating.

I don't think that animation will ever be something that will be seen as something for both kids and adults, but we'll just have to accept it. Of course, if there are people trying to convince others, I'm always at their side.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SimbaTheHuman In reply to FromDeathAbove [2011-07-20 15:48:44 +0000 UTC]

I think that one day it will be seen as someone for children and adults alike. I say this because it seems more and more people are growing up and not growing out of animation. More and more people like it just as much or even more than live action. It may not be soon, but one day c:

I agree! More than anything, anyone who think's Watership Down, Plague Dogs, and Felidae are kids films have serious issues. Plus Animaniacs will ALWAYS be one of the greatest things EVER to be on TV.

Exactly. I got mad a couple months back because DreamWorks was holding a HTTYD contest for 5-12 (something like that)! Why was I mad? Cause I was too old to enter! They should let some olders have a chance to enter! D<

What a wonderful stamp! Yeah, I hope to be an animator, right now I'm working on my own cartoon series that is NOT meant for young children.
I really love the point you're making, and not to mention that you can be more creative with animation than with live action!

SimbaTheHuman In reply to Queen-Qira [2011-06-20 21:24:38 +0000 UTC]

[Much] more creative C:
I would love to watch more American animated series not meant of children, and not Family guy or whatever. Those are just immature cartoons with a few dirty jokes to make them seem more mature

Queen-Qira In reply to SimbaTheHuman [2011-06-20 21:27:06 +0000 UTC]

Yeah! Exactly! I loved the old cartoons... Most of them weren't immature, dirty, or stupid. The cartoons now are just... Crap. It's sad...
