WHOLY SHIT GUYS OVER 1000 FAVS! THANK YOU!

I made this stamp because often I get told that animation is something solely meant for children.
I, personally, still see animated films in theaters more often than I see live action ones. Some people fail to see that it's just another way of telling a story, not a dumbed down version for children.
Animated movies can tackle very real issues as seriously as any medium. Furthermore, the conflicts can be taken very seriously. Films like The Secret of NIMH, Watership down, Grave of the fireflies, Felidae and more recently Pixar's Up are very serious movies, clearly not meant solely for children.

How to train your dragon was produced by Dreamworks animation. It is loosely based on the novel of the same name by Cressida Cowell

Also the illusionist. It was really mature movie (and good one) and more likely an art movie (literally) than an animation.
And points to hawing that HTTYD pic itΒ΄s a good movie

At first I was like, "Animation is made by grown-ups! With an exception of me...." (I am 11) and then I read the description and I was like, "OH! Well I can't watch Family Guy and that's animation! This stamp has a point!!"

This is going in my favorites. Pixar's WALL-E would be an excellent example as well.

It can't be dumbed down because I'm pretty sure that there are rated R and X movies.

my mom is like we have to keep kids shows/movies (iΒ΄m talking about those happy happy ones) for my little sis and not show them too dark/sad stuff like Bambi, Lion King, Watership down etc. cuz they are too young for them

And that's why there's films called "Family films" such as Disney or Studio Ghibli films. Anyone who disses cartoons and claiming they're all entirely for children.. I'ma slap them across the face.

It's so disappointing how many people get picked on for liking animation, because lolparrently animation is just for kidz. It's just a storytelling medium, people, as legitimate as the written word, live-action film, or radio theater.

So yeah, love this stamp.

another movie would be Felidae! It is a german made 2d animation movie about cats solving, well, murders and crime, and it is definitely not for little kids... even tho i kinda am one... but it's even more gory than watership down, and is even has a bit of sex in it but the movie was made many years ago...but i watched it and the plot is very clever...and its also based on a series of books!check it out!

Another movie I can't remember the name of by the people that made Watership Down is also deserving for this stamp is about two lab dogs (actually, I think that's what the movie is called....) that escape the abusive lab and end up eating a person that they kinda sorta accidently killed.

Defiantly true!
I just watched a film about a month ago directed by Ralph Bakshi, he was a director of animated films from about the early 70's to...maybe today? he did films like "Fritz the Cat" which happened to be the first animated film to be rated X..defiantly not for a child to watch

A lot of people got that reaction after they watched Coraline. They thought since it's a claymation that automatically was a children's movie.

And then we have a lot of Mature TV shows like The Simpsons and South Park.

But I digress, the main point is that animation can be enjoyed by adults as well as ids. Which is soo true. My mom loves a ton of animated movies (Treasure Planet, NEST's The Swan Princess, Don Bluth's Thumbelina to name a couple) I will always love animation.
