Hullo all! Apologies for the absence of my usual gushing comments on all your lovely drawings and stories recently; I'll get back to it from now. Long story short - a long term chronic issue with my appendix finally manned up requiring me to have appendectomy surgery. Thank goodness for the NHS! My recovery has not been without its bumps and I've found it difficult to find the time or energy to put pencil to paper (my rediscovery of how much I like sleep hasn't helped either!) So here is a collection of various bits - some old, some newer.
- A finalised design for Arcis (plus the first ever concept art of her, when she was a very different character)
- Poster and character uniform art (starring Mara) for a roleplay I'm in over on the Felarya forums - High School Silliness
- Pictures from my trip to Settle to visit Victoria Cave, which is the basis of Tarynn's cave and its surroundings (you can normally rely on Yorkshire to provide the kind of gloomy weather I needed - Sod's law gave me 26oC sunshine!)
- 1st draft of Tarynn's cave lineart (with Tarynn shown for scale)
- "Painting" based off one of the pictures I took (actually just the result of a lot of photo manipulation, forgive me!)
- Concept drafts for a male fairy character I'm developing
- I rediscovered the first concept art I drew for Tarynn - she had red hair in a centre parting, headband, ponytail and big empty eyes. I soon scrapped it when I realised how similar to Ravana3k's Jora she looked!
- A snippet from the next chapter of the Tarynn comic (nowhere near finished, sorry!)

These doodles are both very nice to look at and a fascinating look into your creative process. I really love the look of that cave, and then when your remember how large Tarynn is, and realize just what a yawning cavern that place is from a human perspective.
Also, red-head Proto-Tarynn looks very tsundere to me for some reason, and then this popped into my head: "I'm not eating you because you taste good or anything, I'm just hungry. Baka."

I got excited when my messages notified me that I'd been mentioned in a work, but then I saw that it was just the art I'd already seen. Then I got excited again when I saw that it was from you. ^_^ I hope to see you around a lot more, and sorry to hear you had to go through all that.

Ahh I was wondering why that last pic looked like Tarynn and Jade had their DNA put in a Walfas Cloning Machine. Aslo sorry to hear about your appendix! Ironic since I've been watching MASH too. o.O Just heard B.J. Hunnicut make an appendix joke today actually!
Yeah I think I like her classic look better. The green blonde hair seems to suit her more. Heh Tarynn in the last pic looks at bit like Smigul from the Lord of the Rings movies examining her new realestate and waiting to devour small theiving Hobbits. XD Arcis (Ark-is? Or Ar-sis?) looks pretty nice too. I see you finaly decided on the color with her. Love that boots and the cute short sleeved pink coat! X3

Yeah, I'm glad I avoided the redhead look now! Haha, when I came up with the name it was Ar-sis, but I find myself saying it in my head as Ark-is now

Oh she wouldn't have looked too bad, but green is so much more her color. Especially that sickly green. ^_^ I think Ark-is is much better. XD Terrible idea to give you friends the right to call you Arse. Though it would be amusing.

I like sleep too..it's far too comfy to be right really! Anyways, sorry to hear about the appendix stuff... I do hope you're all ok now, or if not very soon heh. Anyways though, fun set of doodles- those high school things sound bizarrely amusing just imagining just what it could be like with that XD. The panel of Tarynn and the cave though is really striking, just seeing that big somewhat imposing cave there...just draws my eye there. And really, poor girl, she looks thoroughly traumatized in that last panel! Her life just never seems to catch much of a break dpes it heh?

Tarynn was a red head? Huh, you learn something new everyday. Hell, Kain was not only originally a giant, he was originally supposed to be a SHE. But then I decided to go with the final design.

Interesting ideas in this combination of doodles. I can just imagine what's going through Tarynn's mind as she looks upon the cave (for the first time?).
