Description

Abstraction of proximity to a paradigm shift, the principles of un-doing, here become a metaphor for something elusive...

Something otherworldly and fuelled by a drive for freedom, for breaking of old belief systems and boundaries ...

Come with me, dance a merry dance to my tune and see beyond the mundane.

Drawn entirely free hand, no guidelines used.

this stuff just happens in my head,
i didnt even pencil in much first, just a few squares, then filled out everything with a fineliner pen....
something about drawing lines with pens gives me a great feeling of serenity.
i think it must be the way it makes me focus on angles and dimensions, it helps me to focus and sharpen my mind while i relax.
so... nope, no computers. just my pen and a piece of card, and many evenings sat hunched up on my settee.
if you look through my gallery you will notice lots and lots of crosshatching and tiny details;
this is how i stay sane in an otherwise crazy world.

thanks so much!

these kinds of drawings just seem to flow onto the paper;  very little penciling first and just enjoying the flow of lines

not in over a decade.... but once upon a time...
what can i say?
meditation gives about as much clarity in warping perceptive resonance if done correctly

*oh, and quite a long time ago it became absolutely impossible to get a hold of anything even half decent-
but of course i do not condone drug use over the public domain, that would be objectionable

you can get a peak at the other dimension with meditation, but nothing gets you off the reservation the way psychedelics do... even isolation tanks are not that close.

simonpark81 In reply to zoomzoom [2014-10-13 18:17:31 +0000 UTC]

meditation is brilliant but difficult to keep up with. i will admit that.
im sure if such things were easier to obtain here in england i would be more tempted once in a while-
but there are heavy penalties over such things so it isnt actually a viable option in the UK.
never tried isolation tanks but know what they are... unsure if they are available here too...
hope your having a great day, my moshing-robot friend!

So you are the pied piper now eh ? We know what happened at the end of that one.

Some boundaries, are they not there for our protection?

Some laws for our edification, wisdom and enlightenment?

Freedom works in the parameters of truth.....for truth is the essence of ALL things...and truth of necessity must have a clear boundary with lies, as has reality with unreality!

On the drawing Simon, a departure from your usual. Very well executed and by free hand no less.

Nice one mate!

simonpark81 In reply to Chyme12 [2014-01-03 14:49:59 +0000 UTC]

not the pied piper, but perhaps an artist/musician with a penchant for helping people out of their little boxes....

Some boundaries are surely protective, but from what? and for whom?

it all depends upon which boundaries of course.

and of course, everything reflects the decisions of the dancers themselves. the music pales by comparison to those who can dance to it freely... just look upon my more modern words as a show of progress made within my own paradigm....

To be honest I only thought up the description on the spur of the moment, and wasn't really trying to overthink it

Wanted to get across I'm trying to portray other dimensions, and not just a lot of bricks.

It was wonderful to break from the norm, I'm definitely spreading my artistic horizons now more than ever before

have a wonderful day my friend, happy new year

I danced in the morning when the world was begun
I danced in the Moon, and the stars, and the Sun
I came down from Heaven and I danced on Earth
At Bethlehem I had my birth.

Dance then, wherever you may be
I am the Lord of the Dance, said He!
And I'll lead you all, wherever you may be
And I'll lead you all in the Dance, said He!

I danced for the scribe and the pharisee
They would not dance, they wouldn't follow me
So I danced for the fishermen James and John
They come with me and the Dance went on:

Dance then, wherever you may be
I am the Lord of the Dance, said He!
And I'll lead you all, wherever you may be
And I'll lead you all in the Dance, said He!

I danced on the Sabbath and cured the lame
The holy people, they said it was a shame!
They whipped and stripped and then hung me high
Left me there on a cross to die!

Dance then, wherever you may be
I am the Lord of the Dance, said He!
And I'll lead you all, wherever you may be
And I'll lead you all in the Dance, said He!

I danced on a Friday when the sky turned black
It's hard to dance with the devil on your back
They buried my body and they thought I'd gone
But I am the Dance and I still go on!

Dance then, wherever you may be
I am the Lord of the Dance, said He!
And I'll lead you all, wherever you may be
And I'll lead you all in the Dance, said He!

They cut me down but I leap up high
I am the Life that will never never die!
I live in you if you live in Me
I am the Lord of the Dance, said He!

Dance then, wherever you may be
For I am the Lord of the Dance, said He!
And I'll lead you all, wherever you may be
And I'll lead you all in the Dance, said He!

Dance then, wherever you may be
I am the Lord of the Dance, said He!
And I'll lead you all, wherever you may be
And I'll lead you all in the Dance, said He!

Dance then, wherever you may be
I am the Lord of the Dance, said He!
And I'll lead you all, wherever you may be
And I'll lead you all in the Dance, said He!

I totally respect that response.

I'm perplexed by some of the lyrical content, as I was as a child when I first heard it....

in effect, we are all god's children, just like jesus, is the point of the song, I think

but also now after much research into ancient religions and mythologies, by the fact that the original Lord of the Dance was Shiva,

over in India where temples were erected in his honour at around the same time as jesus was said to have lived.

don't worry, I don't wanna pretend I'm the New lord of the dance or anything so presumptuous.

Wasn't that the idol of destruction.............I am death, the destroyer of worlds? Married to that other female idol Kali........with a wreath of HUMAN skulls about her neck?

Think I'll follow my dance instructor, Jesus, thanx all the same!

simonpark81 In reply to Chyme12 [2014-01-13 13:50:06 +0000 UTC]

yes, Shiva as lord of the dance destroyed the world, so Brahm, the old Indian/Hindu name for the 'one true god',

could rebuild the world afresh. I find the idea quite nice, in this day and age. if only divine intervention WOULD happen once in a while, maybe there wouldn't be so many atheists in the world

and his wife, Shakti, did indeed have a necklace of human skulls. perhaps its just symbolic though, like Jesus always being shown with the crown of thorns and hanging on the cross? I mean, he only wore the crown for a few days, while he was being killed, and yet humanity latched onto it and used it as a symbol of faith. speaking as an outsider of faith, think perhaps the image of him standing on a hillside surrounded by people was a better show of his life, his humanity and his power.

but maybe the necklace of skulls was a similar affair. maybe it was only symbolic?

As I have mentioned previously, I have no problems with Jesus, in fact he seemed like a lovely bloke who only ever tried to help others to think for themselves. shame the romans who crucified him were the same ones who built Christianity up from the old texts afterward.

anyways, have a lovely day, and all the best to you
