Description so here it is.... My first ever full-colour A3 piece.
I was going to announce it with a fanfare and all,
but I have only just got back online and it's been a trying few weeks.
C'est la Vie, everything ends and everything moves onward. kinda like this picture, really.

Two and a half months of working pretty solidly on it, mostly colouring time.
Definately the most epic project i have tried yet.
Drawn with Pigment ink fineliners (0.1mm) prismacolor pencil colours and a whole lot of patience.
I didn't know i had it in me.

Original for sale Β£120

imagine if you got go through a doorway to another world.... what would you see in between?
vortex-like tunnels are all the rage in sci-fi movies,
but on the other hand, the world (and reality in general) has a very specific way of being beautiful,
and rock formations and natural constructions are very randomized articles, albeit with patterns to the chaos.
I actually really enjoyed making this image. feels like the hard work paid off.

thank you! this is the biggest drawing i have ever made, and i think that the size really helps the amount of detail and depth. i want to do more this size but worry about not having the space for them...

its awkward - i dont want to have to create for money, but i dont have space to keep all the drawings i create!

thank you! yup, this was (and still is) the biggest project i have ever attempted - i was determined to see how hard it was to scale my work up another degree; i used to draw very small pics, before i got online, and then about ten years ago i started filling the whole page - seems logical to go on to do bigger and bigger works - no-one has approached me yet to paint a whole wall pic but im up for it!!!

Yes, I has guessed it must have represented a lot of work. How big is your painting?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

simonpark81 In reply to PatrickJac [2017-05-09 13:31:49 +0000 UTC]

its an A3 - since I know not everyoneΒ knows the English paper system, that equates to 29.7cm by 42 cm.
and it is a drawing, not painting; I use fineliners with a tip width of 0.3mm and prismacolor pencils, along with a load of other colouring pencils thanks for taking an interest!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

PatrickJac In reply to simonpark81 [2017-05-09 16:40:29 +0000 UTC]

Actually the paper system is the same in France

Thank you so much Hans!
This piece was a culmination of years of working up to the point of being able to create something on a larger scale than ever before. I doubled the size of work-space to my usual works,
and feel it really gives it more depth of field and room to play with little detailsΒ
i want to do more large pieces like this but they are so unbelievably time-consuming!
I have sent you an email...
peace, and hope you have a wonderful day my friend

hello again hans! please dont worry, i am going to go to the mail office - but i live in an out-of-the-way area of the edge of my city, and there is literally no post office within a few miles. i will be looking into the shipping cost but as its half-term holidays i have been running around after my kids and haven't had chance to get over there yet - i havent forgotten, to be honest i have been trying to figure out a way of doing it without rolling it up - or figuring out how much it will weigh rolled around a card tube! sorry for making you wait, my friend. it will be sorted over this weekend, i promise. i will get back to you by email shortly to let you know the figures.
hope you have a wonderful day my friend!

another one that took forever and a day to finish. i had a deadline to hit, and i did it... but only just. its the largest piece i have ever completed.... i have more A3 card but i dont even know if i have the strength to do another one as big as this....
perhaps i should be harder on myself, and really go at one, to test myself and see how quick i could manage it.... but thats a lot of effort....

i try to incorporate as much detail into my work as possible, and usually i even wind up adding more details after i think it was finished, coloured and all!
i love the evolutionary factors in art, like how a picture can even change in the eyes of its creator, as they are creating it, and it winds up being something different to what had originally been the idea for it in the first placeΒ

Marcusrafaelft In reply to simonpark81 [2016-10-10 06:32:27 +0000 UTC]

I'm like this but in a different way I think xD, like, sometimes I want to do a more simple 'mangΓ‘' style drawing and end up adding too much detail and shadowing and in the end it actually looks realistic and not so much like a mangΓ‘ xD or I don't finish cause takes too much time and I get sick of the drawing, there's like 5+ good drawings that I stopped and never touched for years lol, I just can't do a simple drawing haha and when I'm not drawing from photo reference it always end up different from what I had in mind , or even from photos I change somethings, add a little more texture when the picture don't have or more contrast, etc. There's also an 3d work I didn't finish yet cause I ended up adding too much details and my PC can't handle it to the final render lol
