Description what a merman would actually look like, if nature had a say and not magic or mysticism... drawn almost two years back but i promised i would upload it....
took a while to draw... took three months to get round to colouring it
anyhoo, pretty pleased with how it turned out-
drawn using biro and pencil crayons

thank you so much! i try to envisage mythical creatures as science would dictate them to be;
mermaids would need blubber, massive muscle structure in the upper torso for swimming, and of course a powerful midriff to flex that huge tail the eyes to see in deep sea etc....
hope you have a wonderful day! if you havent already, please come see my gallery! i have tonnes of drawings uploaded now...

thanks i like the muscle structure in this one but the colouring on this was the first time i tried to colour any of my work... before this my whole artistic style was different..
so it was like a milestone for me

i suppose it is the natural state of the artist to question himself...

The background is a little bleh compared to your other water photos but it's still nice. your anatomy is great ._. His eyes are a bit freaky. Lol. I like your aquaticamerican friend though. but I think he should have 1 more fin from his head/down spine. (couldn't tell if that was just hidden from angle)

heh heh yeah i drew this one years ago, and by chance a freind asked what i thought mer people would look like if science and nature made them, not magic.
by strange chance, this is the very first picture i coloured since taking up art properly again, so while i apologise for the roughness, i do think it adds a certain.. je ne sais quois.

I didn't even compare it to the mer in Helboy. I see it for what it is.
and I like it.
