Does anyone else find it odd that other artists tend to turn Shadow white when they humanized him? At least this is sticking to his original fur color. And no, I'm not racist, I'm just tired of all the emo white-boy human portrayals of Shadow. Here, he looks serious, not whiny.

To be fair, most people make everyone a light skinned anime guy with a crazy hairdo, so it's not just Shadow. I understand the folks who at least base their skin color on the character's muzzle color (even if that's not what I do), but making them all the same just doesn't make sense to me. :/

For the most part not many people have had a problem with it, or at least haven't commented as much. Most folks who have been apprehensive are just confused because it's not what they see often. There's been a few who really had a problem with it, or with me for doing it, but it's a really small portion. I've noticed that as the project's gone on I've gotten less comments like that. I think people just needed to be exposed to it and reminded that yes, these characters can be other things besides vaguely white/asian. My designs may still not be the best, but race isn't really something that comes up as much as it used to.
And actually, I've started seeing more PoC representations of the characters by other people too lately. So I think, hopefully, people are becoming more receptive to it than they were before.

Hmm. That's an interesting look for him, although I'm not sure that design really resonates with me as "Shadow." You did a way better job with Shard, imo.

I've been working on Shard for longer, so I think he's a bit more complete. I'm still changing some things with Shadow's design though, mostly with the outfit.
I know it's a pain, but is there anything in particular about this design that sticks out to you as not working? If not, that's fine, it would just help me get ideas for what to do with the next draft.

Whenever I though of a humanized shadow, I always pictured him being Hispanic xD (but I love the design you gave him, it fits him perfectly!) ='D. I absolutely adore the originality of his looks, and how he doesnt have that crazy hair that would take atleast 3 bottles of hair spray to pull off.
