Humanized Sonic! He was actually one of the first ones I designed out of the whole cast.Besides the robot characters, I try to make my humanized versions a bit more natural looking, instead of having really crazy anime hair and fantasy outfits. My goal was to make human versions that would invoke the same kind of feelings and reactions from the other characters and audience as their mobian counterparts do. Basically, as if I had to retell all of the Archie Sonic history, but with humans instead of mobians. I'm avoiding the typical gijinka look of KPOP boy with blue emo hair. Personally, that's just not my bag, and I've seen it done too many times to do it myself. Cool beans if that's what you like, it's just not for me.
Still, I think I may go back and make his hair a bit more blue for the sake of looking more "Sonic". It's a dark dark blue, but it may be too subtle.
I made a problem for myself by designing Sonic and the Metals separately. Now they don't really look like copies of each other. I'll have to go back and tweak the Metal line's designs some more, but I'm pretty happy with both sides. They just don't match up... :V

I know this is old but this is the artist OWN interpretation , and they probably weren't even aware of an official human sonic, plus your VOICE and your RACE are two completely different things, you can meet a lot of black people who " sound like white people" or an asian person who " who sounds like mexician person"

Meh who knows , the official form could've been released but seeing as how sega/nintendo hasn't used that human design in recent years it could be why a lot of people don't know about it, I sure as hell didn't, plus they weren't being a brat about it they didn't " MY HUMAN DESIGN IS BETTER THAN SEGA'S" a lot of people have preferences of what to make a human .
it just something I do I don't know why, it's just apart of my ranting style.
plus I can't really speak on the race-bending part seeing as how race-bending is something people have different interpretations of the meaning and what could be considered race-bending.

eh like I said sega/nintendo hasn't really used the human design , at least from what I've, so it would make since that this person had no idea of the human design until you mentioned it , but I can see why you say it's race-bending, but to it just isn't , just a design a fan made.

I'm sorry for butting in but, does it really matter? Why can't we all just respect that this person has made a wonderful piece of art. White, Black, Asian, it doesn't really matter. Sonic is Sonic, no matter what race you or I interpret him as. Even if Jaleel said that Sonic is Asian, this is the artist's version of Sonic. Please respect that not all artists like to stick to just one perspective on how Sonic looks. Just like how not all people like to stick to canon when they are shipping two characters together.

Did you not read the description? They wanted sonic to look more realistic looking, and I'd say this is pretty realistic looking to me. The official art looks like something out of an anime, and is no where near realistic looking. Also, not everyone follows the official art, and it's not disrespecting anyone. If it is, I guess your dense ass is going to have to yell at all the people who give Amy long hair, and say, "Omggggg Amy doesn't have long hair!!! sorry to intrude but honestly your on this earth and believe it or not but we are all human despite skin color differences Q//Q I mean if you where blind you wouldn't care about skin color would you? No. You wouldn't. So suck it up buttercup the world has people with their own opinions and you need to stop being so rude to the artist who worked hard on putting their thoughts out on paper and its amazing~ weather you see sonic as white, black or Asian doesn;t matter because this version of sonic is vary well done.

Since I first saw Sonic's voice actor as Jaleel white, I did somewhat picture him like his voice actor, but I mainly drew him white because of his arm and belly colour when I was younger. But this is just fantastic! Excellent job!
