Description
I kinda lost my gumption for this project for the moment, so I'll upload it incomplete since it's a long way away from being done. Just a collection of all those fankids I was working on back in January-March, cleaned up and with more finalized designs. There's still a few left to go, but I'll just update the image as they're done! How about that!

From left to right (also including what I used to call them plus some new more decent sounding names):
WereSal/Selphie - The entitled first child of Sonic and Sally with an ego the size of the moon, and immediate heir to the throne. Trained closely by her mother and studies leadership skills through books and simulations. Has no actual experience being a leader. Demands respect from everyone immediately, "respect" here meaning "doing as they're told." Actually really really bad at being a leader. No powers.

Peanut/Maple - Second child of Sonic and Sally. Sonic's terribly-kept-secret favorite. Rejects her regal roots, hates the jerk it turned her sister into and has no interest in being a part of it. Sometimes too abrasive and crass. Dislikes rules of any kind. Quick to break laws. Has some super speed, but not to the degree of her dad, and she struggles to make use of it.

Chuxamilian - Third child of Sonic and Sally. Third-fiddle to his sisters. Often feels ignored by his parents, and, well, just about everyone. No one expects him to accomplish much of anything. Extremely quiet. Extremely lonely. All the same, he is polite and very mellow. Maybe someday he'll find his hidden talent. No powers.

Shawn Daryl Bender/Boone - Hairy-chested bad boy from an old Eggman Empire outpost that has struggled to stabilize a government since the empire's downfall. As such, it has become a hub of crime and poverty. A talented thief and hitman for whatever current crimelord will pay him, he believes the world has no room for generosity and weakness. Eventually comes to realize that the world around him is not set in stone, and that he can be a part of the solution to change it for the better. Strength, sharp claws, agile.

Argyle/Key of C - C for Crocodile. Vector's son. Childhood friend of Lara/Nails. Local DJ trying to make a name for himself, but failing horribly. Makes money on the side being a sound and lighting technician for other bands. Somewhat annoyed that his father wouldn't accept any charity from all his rich, royal friends- not that he's complaining (out loud). Good at having a social media presence, up-to-date with lots of news. The most tech-savvy member in the group.

The Twins/Lia and Laia - Larry and Lyco's twin daughters. Laia was born with super good luck, while Lia was born with super bad luck. When they're together they cancel each other out and have no powers. Grew up in the jungle with the rest of the Wolf Pack, where the clan felt like a very extended family. Both are brave and kind-hearted. Lia is antsy and wants to live independently, but feels tethered to her sister so that her jinxes don't go out of control. Laia could live comfortably on her own, but is afraid of what her life would be like without her sister, and is secretly very clingy.

Lara-Su/Nails - Only child of Knuckles and Julie-Su. Had survival and fighting skills emphasized to her over a traditional education. Gets along well with her parents, writes off the crazy things they do as a by-product of her even crazier grandparents. Is not used to sharing things with siblings, is not used to putting up with people in general. Likes her alone time- in fact, thinks she can accomplish most things just fine on her own. Not really worried about how she'll do as the next Guardian, she's sure she can handle it. Frequently contemplates the balance between technology and nature. Somewhat gruff, gets along fine with gentle personalities, but butts heads with more boisterous characters. Super strength, chaos powers, spiritually in tune, sharp knuckle spikes.

SpiderGal/Ophelia - Follower of the teachings of Nusgau, one of the mages that formerly made up Ixis Naugus. Joined the cult at a young age and believes strongly in the potential of Ixis magic. Tries eagerly to convince others to join the cult, whose ultimate goals are not in the least bit noble or good. However, she is bubbly and polite, with a sweet demeanor. She doesn't want to see anyone hurt, but she would like to someday be ruler of the world. Her current goal is to unite the three Naugus clans, which are currently warring against each other. She is proficient in Ixis magic, which she channels through her hourglass staff.

Jacques - First child of Bunnie and Antoine. Spent a lot of his childhood in Sandblast City where his parents helped rebuild after the fall of the Eggman Empire. Much older than the other future kids ("much" meaning he's 22), and so is often viewed as the wise, old chaperone of the group. He's really not. Tries to be hip and cool with the others. He's really not. Was incredibly close to his sister growing up, and has struggled ever since she run away from home. He recently received word on where she might be, and he's not too happy about it. It's his goal now to find her and bring her back safely. No powers, but he's a skilled swordsman and marksman.

Rough stories:
Arc 1 - Sonic smuggles his kids out of school for a spontaneous adventure, which he tries to hide from Sally since she feels stronger about the importance of school education than he does. (He's done this a lot. :V) Along the way, they run into some trouble and Sonic goes to play the hero. Unfortunately, he is caught off guard by a larger threat than he'd expected, and is captured by the enemies. The kids are separated from their dad, and must, for the first time, act quickly in the face of danger if they want to save themselves and their father. It's hard to say what the bigger challenge will be- the enemies hunting them down, or trying to get along for once! Appearances by Sonic and Sally. (Selphie, Maple, Chux)

Arc 2 - An old enemy from the heroes' past has resurfaced to cause mayhem in the present. All the parents are incapacitated by a curse that has slept in their system for 25 years, leaving the major cities of the world leaderless and in a frenzy. It is up to the next generation of heroes to step up and find the culprit. Selphie, Melody, and Lara all seek to save their parents, but can't seem to get along. Can ego, know-it-all, and loner learn to work together? Along the way they meet new and old friends alike, who join up to form the Neo Freedom Fighters. Appearances by Freedom Fighters and Chaotix. (Selphie, Maple, Chuxamilian, Melody, Lara, Jacques, Cheerios, Key of C)

Arc 3 - Ophelia seeks help in stopping the self-destructive plans of her cult. Lia wonders if Ixis magic could help her control her jinxes and become independent. Laia worries she might be right. (Ophelia, Lia and Laia, Selfie, Jacques)

Arc 4 - The Neo Freedom Fighters pass through Boone's crime town, and learn that good and bad aren't always as clear cut as they thought. Selphie wonders what it really means to be a leader, and whether she's cut out for the gig after all. Appearances by Shadow and Omega. (Selphie, Melody, Key of C, Cheerios, Boone)

Arc 5 - Cheerios is confronted by a strange blue echidna claiming the throne for himself. He must defend his family, while at the same time coping with the idea that he may not be a prince after all! Appearances by Amy and Bow. (Cheerios, Little Jon, Boone, Maple)

Arc 6 - The Dark Legion disbanded years ago, assimilating into a unified echidna society. However, with the new globalization of the world post-Eggman, emigration has seen a spike and cultures have mixed. Two popular radical schools of thought have taken root- the anti-tech, pro-nature school called "The Humble", and the technophile population of ex-Legionnaires and ex-Robians called "The Enlightened." The Humble have come to believe that all technology is evil as a result of the horrors of the recent wars, and that it distracts people from finding inner peace. What started as a gentle, alternative lifestyle for many has come to spawn radical groups in the last few years, who commit acts of terror and destruction to scare people into seeing their truth. The Enlightened originally formed from people who felt like their lives were bettered when they were given robot parts, and wanted to push the field further. Consisting of several former members of the Eggman Empire and the Dark Legion, it was a natural breeding ground for potential evil dictators. However, most members are ordinary citizens with no intent to harm. These groups are constantly at war with each other, and twist historic events to match the rhetoric they want to spread.

Among The Enlightened is Jacques' sister, Belle, who believes strongly in the potential of a technology-based society. Manipulative radicals in the group have slowly convinced her of taking more and more drastic, and violent, steps to promote their way of thinking.

Among The Humble is the strange offspring of Lien-da and Finitevus, who calls himself "The Eye." Rejected as a child because of his ties to two of the most wicked and well-known people during the Robotnik Wars, he eventually turned things around for himself by denouncing his parents and all views held by the former Dark Legion, gaining a huge following in the process. He, with his loving public image, has risen as the popular leader of The Humble and become a symbol of how good people can grow from bad family. However, there is more to this strange echidna than what his public image would let on...

Jacques sets out to find and stop his sister. Lara has been dealing with growing tension on Angel Island and hopes to ease the situation. Little John has come to Angel Island to become more in-tune with his echidna ancestry, but finds that many echidnas do not accept him as one of their own. Appearances by Rotor, Cobar and Mighty.
