I am not sure about it myself, having only read the first chapter. I don't know if I'd spend 8 bucks on it but I was curious enough and from the brief glimps I got I think it is well written enough not to make one want to stab out their eyes.I say though if you're really curious go for it.

You should buy it, or even the audiobook. I listen to it every day while I play Rome Total War; Athena's side is actually quite fascinating and has made me re-read both novels several times already.

I'm way late to this party but I recently found the novel by mistake as well. I was just wasting time at the book store and happened to see it and got it. That bit between Athena and Hermes killed me it was so hilarious. Also this pic is too cute.

The scene was what sold me on the book, because it was just too...too fantabulously silly and perfect. You gotta tell me what happens in the rest of the book I haven't really bought it yet, but I'm gonna >:3

I haven't gotten very far in myself but I really like the writing style so far. It seems to be going into a good deal of detail about what's up on the gods' end, which is great because I thought it was kind of weird that you didn't really hear much from them in the first game. (They totally needed way more screen time).
So far Kratos is doing the bit with the hydra (doesn't really add all that much to that bit), Ares is butthurting over the fact that Athena is Zeus' favorite and is being all manipulative to Poseidon, Athena is also being manipulative to Zeus and Poseidon. I'm really enjoying the parts with the gods

Uhm well the greek gods ALL did that, the whole incest thing, it didn't really matter to them. They're from ancient greece and are privledged petty bastards....So they're always going to not care about rules or who was related to who, as long as the object of their desire is pretty and interesting.
I mean Hera is Zeus's sister, and Persephone is Hades niece and those four were married to one another. And I am sure Hermes would love to have a romp with you, but they never were looking for love, just a momentary release of passion.
