Description
In the God of War novel apparently Hermes has it super bad for Athena. Showing up half naked in her bed room and literally asking if she'd go a round with him.He is naughty and I adore him.

I bet Athena didn't appreciate that. In Greek mythology she was known for being particularly vengeful. Hell, she blinded a guy who accidentally stumbled in on her when she was bathing.

Yeah she put a sword to his chin I can promise you that, their banter is adorable though, mostly because Athena is NOT buying what he's selling and Hermes just can't take a hint. He thinks he's hot shit and I struggle not to agree. Athena is his 'favorite' sister after all

Athena is hot shit. She's always been my favorite Greek goddess, maybe my favorite goddess period. I can't help but wonder if the whole Hermes/Athena thing actually made it into Greek mythology. It would be interesting if it did.

I don't think it did, he did help 'birth' her so to speak but he was into nymphs and probably goats XD And I think the virgin goddess's made sure everyone knew they were under eternal cock block

He became a real dick in the 3rd game though. So there's a novel series? Neat!

Just one book that I know of, and I liked him in the 3rd game! He never laid a hand on Kratos until he was injured by him! And running his mouth is just something Hermes does, it's not his fault he was corrupted by Pandoras box! But he is a total ass hat.

That's what I meant. I mean, of the Gods you fight, he was probably the one the player would regret killing the most.

Yeah I was sad, watching it was like ' dammit Kratos, you really are an amoral son of a bitch!' It was almost as bad as the time in GOW2 when you used the injured soldier to break the spike wheel.

Yeah, Kratos is a bit too much of an ass to be a hero. He's killing the world but he's all, "Meh, as long as I get revenge. I'm sure my family will understand. You know, the family I murdered in cold blood".

I do pity Kratos, but he just takes things WAY too far. No matter what you did in your past you do NOT get a free pass to do all the shit he does. He's really a big cry baby bitch about a LOT of a stuff

My thoughts exactly. I would have settled on killing Zeus. I would have left it at that.

Probably. Though to be fair, the Gods were asses and Aphrodite really was a slut. I actually imagined an idea for some characters declaring war on the Gods because they are abusing their powers and are composed mainly of people who were cursed by the Gods or their family was. Got a good story going for Medusa's family and Arachne.

The gods weren't that big of dicks until they were corrupted, but they were spoiled arrogant bastards who truly had every right to be, after all they did all the hard work that brought semi peace of Greece and they did really want to put hope in Kratos in the first game. Oohhh the gods were very vengeful shits and had lots of people who they cursed because of small offenses

Yeah, but they were asses in mythology. In the games, they were bearable and actually helpful. So want to hear about Arachne and the others?

Well, since Arachne was probably the first spider (and cursed to have all her beautiful webs destroyed) she probably went into hiding somewhere and gave birth to all the spiders we see. Her lair is hidden, lined with her silken tapestries that tell many stories, both past and future. She's grown to enormous size and surrounded by many of her children. Thankfully they don't devour humans (unless they come looking for trouble). She serves as an oracle, since she can tell the future in her webs, and will offer her services to those who bring offerings to her and her children (mostly food).
Medusa was once a temple priestess of Athena. She was faithful to her duty, a virgin like her goddess, and extremely beautiful. Enough to attract the attention of Posieden who raped her inside the temple. Athena was enraged at this sacrilege, but could do nothing to a fellow god, and instead punished Medusa, the victim and transformed her into a Gorgon. Her elder sisters, called Athena out on such an unfair punishment and were transformed as well. The way I see it, they stayed this way for many years and over time Medusa gave birth to an egg that they kept inside their cavern home. It didn't hatch until its mother's death at the hands of Perseus. The child, a girl, would be raised by her aunts and told of the honorable fate that happened to her mother and of her mother's beauty and kindness even after the transformation. She resembles her mother's Gorgon form, but still retains her beauty, along with the aquarian traits of her bastard father.

I felt these two really got the shaft from Athena and wanted to add more to their story. I also think that inspite of all that happened to Medusa, she maintained her beauty. When her sisters (in my story) are asked about her, they say that even though they turned many to stone, those that looked at Medusa showed no fear, but awe.

I can imagine she'd join the resistance for the chance to kill her father (even if he did know she existed, he wouldn't be a good dad) and I expect she'd meet up with a blind oracle. He'd want to harm the Gods as well, but his visions don't show him anything that can be used against them, so he takes her with him to visit Arachne. He brings an offering and exchanges in small talk.
O: Arachne. You look lovely as always, as do your children.
A: Flattery will get you no where Oracle, but I thank you for your words.
O: I do not give those out lightly or without truth. But still I do have more pressing reasons to visit.
A: Something concerning the future no doubt?
O: The Gods took my sight to give me my power, but insured I could never see or know anything I could use against them. You have no such limitation. What do you see?
