-Dancing: This isn’t something he always liked to do, at first it was simply something his father had forced him to do in order to rid his mind of negativity and other pent up emotions. But the more he did it, the more he came to genuinely love it. Dancing is also a good way to prove to judgmental people that just because he’s fat, it doesn’t mean he’s lazy or clumsy. He likes to dance in a lot of styles, but he takes specifically flamenco lessons.

-Playing guitar: After Eden got into flamenco dancing, he naturally got interested in the music, so he decided to learn how to play the guitar, he’s still learning, but he can already play some flamenco tunes.

However, that happy family life tragically came to an end when one day, while Eden and his father, Gérard, were out shopping, there was an explosion in the apartment they lived in, caused by a gas leak while his mother, Amanda, was cooking. The apartment was destroyed and she died on the spot. In just mere seconds, Eden and his father had lost everything and Eden was especially scarred by what had happened.

Wanting to start completely fresh, his father took him and the few belongings that were salvaged from the apartment and moved away from France altogether, and took a train to Austropia, a utopic city where it was rumored that anybody had the chance to make their dreams come to life.
Once they got there, they bought an old building and began living there. That place later became The Golden Droplet, the club where Eden currently works.

Gérard was trying to remain positive and support Eden after his mother’s death, but that only ended up backfiring, as Eden barely had any time to mourn and all that positivity coming from his father made him feel like he was the only one saddened by his mother’s death. This, combined with being thrown into a completely new environment while knowing very little English, prompted him to become quiet, defensive and pretty frustrated and angsty too.

Due to the extreme stress and grief of it all, led him to some pretty bad habits such as stress-eating and lazing around that caused him to balloon up more and more and he was bullied because of it at school.
After graduating from high school he decided not to attend university, feeling completely clueless about what he wanted to do in his life, spending his days just lazing around and occasionally helping out with his father’s buisness.

This worried his father quite a lot, he had done his best to be there for Eden, but the more he tried to make him feel better, the worse his son seemed to feel. He had to do something… that’s when something clicked in his mind, as a kid and even now, Eden had always liked music and dancing quite a lot, although now he wouldn’t do the latter as much. So he decided to sign Eden up for Flamenco lessons.
At first, Eden was less than happy about that, not wanting to be seen by other people as he danced. But the more he did it, the more his passion for it grew and he slowly began opening up to others again.
Despite his size, he was also pretty good at dancing, so much so that after a year and a half of practicing, his Flamenco instructor let him participate to a competition!

Thanks to his hard training and fiery passion, Eden actually won against all odds! That was a turning point for him, after so long he actually loved doing something and he was even succeeding at it and that, combined with the support of his friends and customers at the Golden Droplet, really boosted his confidence and he was finally able, after 7 years, to make peace with his father and come to terms with his mother’s death. He still misses her and he gets sad about her death at times, but he isn’t trying to forget her anymore, instead cherishing all the things she taught him.

Goal:

Making “The Golden Droplet” the best club in town: Eden and his father have put their heart and soul into the Golden Droplet, and Eden especially holds the place very close to his heart and wants to make it better and better while still keeping its original feel.
