Description OK... I admit it.
I'm a vocaloid geek.
Can you believe that I actually doubted the whole phenomenon in the first place?

The inspiration (and much of the imagery) is taken from the (in)famous Vocaloid song "Imitation Black" ( [link] )

Imitation Black
Lyrics: NatsuP.
Composer: NatsuP.
Arrangement: NatsuP.
Guitar&Mix: haku.

This version features the H&A gang.

Well... from the music video (which is included in the "Artist's comment" area), the story does almost seem like a love-triangle. But... I am not worried. There's not much of a love-triangle going on between these three people.

The background idea came from the original artist who created this look, too. This piece is a re-creation experiment; basically, an experiment to re-create the original style as much as possible but using different characters. I do that once in a while to see just what sort of results I will get.

A "Vocaloid" is a computer program which allows you to use the sounds stored in a voice bank to create speech and music. More information can be found here:[link]

Hehe...joking. In fact I know they're not a love-triangle. Then, let them be a "fire triangle", in order to start or continue a combustion, neither of them can be missed.

A re-creation experiment? Are there any specific kind of fun and joy in the process?O:

Ah...I see. I've read it. It sounds like an interesting concept!! But I wonder if the output would be satisfactory...

SinistrosePhosphate In reply to Amelie-the-Fox [2010-02-21 01:52:26 +0000 UTC]

The line of agression runs like this:
Lelio is afraid of Lora (the vampire hunter).
Lora is afraid of Julian (the lord and the ardent admirer).
Julian is afraid of Lelio (the prince and the vampire).
It's not a love-triangle. It's like rock-paper-scissors!

Yes, yes... a re-creation experiment. I go out to deliberately copy the style of another artist using my own ideas and concepts (the other one you saw is called "AX's Apocryphal agent". The style comes from THORES Shibamoto). Are there any specific fun in the process? Yes, of course. This is the time when you put down all of what you've already know and learned to go for something else completely different - something that you will never have tried otherwise. And when you succeed... there's a joy in there that's unparalleled.

(The success of the the Vocaloid programs depends on the user. A good user can use the programs to a wonderful result. The song I've attached with this picture is a pretty good example.)

Ah-ha! Another Vocaloid Geek! Yes!!!

"Imitation black" is a notorious song. I think it's one of those songs that grabbed me from the beginning. (All things considered, it was quite an innovation as far as music style goes at the time...). I know Darkwood circus as well. It remains another one of my favourites.

Lora "You two are going to get it the moment the picture's done."
Lelio: "Hein... please, be reasonable. This wasn't my idea, either."
Julian: "What's wrong with it? It's a great idea! Love the dress, Lovey."

Lora: "... you say that one more time, you're going to wake up bald..."

What are some of your other favorites? I have quite a few myself. If you want to send me some youtube links, you can. You know what to do~ ^_^

Oh, of course I am.
Always good to know that there's someone out there sharing your little interest, yes?

What are some of my favourites?
Hmm... Lessee...
I like "Cantarella" from Gakupo and Luka, "Paranoid doll" from Gakupo, "Tsugai Kogarashi" from Kaito and Meiko, "Honrai wa", "Oni to musume" from Kaito, "The disappearance of Hatsune Miku" from... er... Hatsune Miku... just to name a few. The lit keeps on growing, anyway. I think I like quite a few songs that carry a distinct Japanese motif with the Kaito and Meiko. They aren't always available (or easily found) for people who don't speak Japanese. If you are interested, I can send them to you.

Lora: "......." (Lora hates dresses. What can I say?)
Julian: "See? Helena agrees with me!"
Lelio: "... er... Sir? Sir Hereford...? This might not be a good course to pursue..."

Yes it is always good to have something in common...

Nice choices you have there. Now, I shall let you in on some on mine.

"Crazy clown" from Kaito and Miku, "Kagome" from Miku and Luka, "From the cradle to the Grave" from Gakupo and "Hitobashira Alice" from Miku, Kaito, Meiko, Ren and Len.

... I am very interested, it would be great if you could send me the links. Again, thank you very much... ^-^

Helena: "... Take a deep breath Lora..." (She hates dresses too... But as long as someone else is wearing them...)

Helena: "Yes... you should try to hold back anything else that you have to say... Miss Lora looks like she's about to tear into you... You might want to watch your next step..."

Always, always... It makes feel less alone in the world.

Thank you for your selection!
I know most of them, with the exception of "Crazy clown". Then again... I highly dislike clowns, it shouldn't come as a surprise that I don't know that one, right?

And, as promised, here are some selections that may be less accessible to the non-Japanese-speaking crowd:
1. "Tsugai Kogarashi" [link]
2. "Honraika" [link]
3. "Oni to musume" [link]
This reminds me... if you liked "Kagome, Kagome", you might also like this one:
4. "Rotten girl; grotesque romance" [link]

(This exercise is an interesting one, I might add. If you think there are videos that you think I should watch, please feel free to send them over!)

Lora: "... you like dresses, you wear them yourself."
Julian: "Me in dresses... Hmm... as long as you're there in a suit beside me, why not?"
Lora:
Lelio: "... hein... come, now. There's not reason to get... oh, dear."

Haha... I dislike clowns too... But, I can make a few exceptions It's a fun and somewhat morbid song... No, no... Clowns are indeed scary... Especially when they're in your face... -_-

Ah yes.. And thank you for yours...

I know "Oni to musume" I have the mp3 for it. It is a nice song... Somewhat sad... But lovely all the same... As for the other two.... that was my first time watching/listening to them. "Houraika", was rather good. I'll have to add it to my favorites

Alright then.. Here are some more of mine

1."石碑(Tombstone)"
[link]

2."Kuroi Touno Ouji"
[link]

3. 【鏡音リン・レン】Rin+Len: "Message of Regret" リグレットメッセージ PV
[link]
(This one is part of a small series of songs.. I like this one the most though)

4. Joker
[link]

(I think it's interesting as well, and very fun... Lets try to keep it going for a while longer. Any more on your end? ^^)

Helena: -chuckles softly- "Julian in a dress...? How silly."

SinistrosePhosphate In reply to Orochitachi [2010-02-26 04:24:27 +0000 UTC]

The problem with "Crazy Clown" as a song is that it's atonal and difficult to program. It's a difficult song to make well... Vocaloid or human. As far as music goes, it's not well done. As far as clowns go... well, I don't like them, period.

Thank you for your new collection as well. I am familiar with "Koroi Touno Ouji" and "Message of Regret" (and associated songs). Sekihi (Tombstone) is a good example of using a robotic voice to create a specific effect, although I am not a fan of it. And finally... thank you for showing me "Joker" as well. I hope I will be able to find a version with better encoding.

I guess I'm down-right picky when it comes to Vocaloid songs. I like versions with good encoding so the voices sound "almost-real". The problem with "Joker", "Crazy Clown" and "Kuori Touno Ouji" is that the encoding could be a lot better. "Sekihi" wins out by tapping into an electronica style where "human-like" voices are not necessary. But that doesn't work well with every song, unfortunately.

To keep this exchange going...
Something tells me you'll like this one: [link]

Back to some others I have in my collection:
1. Yomi Zakura ( 黃泉櫻 ): [link]
2. Toki wasure hito (The man who forgot time, 時忘人 )[link]
3. Breathe: [link]
4. Romeo and Cinderella: And hopefully, you'll send me new ones, too?

I don't know about you... but I'd pay to see Julian in a dress...

Ahh... I am just not picky when it comes to Vocaloid songs... (I don't know why...) If I like the song or the story/message/situation that the song plays out - it begins to grow on me (It took me a moment to enjoy Crazy clown and a few others) However, I understand what you mean. It is nice to have something that sounds a little more "human" than a robotic voice... I either try to seek a version with a better encoding (if one exists... If not, I tolerate the only version I can find) or if the song has an original source; try to find it.

And you're very welcome ^^

Ah well.. Looks like I'll have to send you some more ;D
Yes, I did enjoy Fear Garden.. Thank you for sending the link! Poor Gakupo.. He was so unsuspecting... Oh and Breathe is now added to my faves XD

Gakupo: *humming softly to self*

Ren: -slowly slithers from the shadows- "OH, Mister Gakupo~"

:< (The fates that the Vocaloids had... That would not be a very fun way to go... o.o)

Here it goes:

1. [Kamui Gakupo] RETURNER~闇の終焉~ [神威がくぽ]
I think you might like this one ^^

2. 【KAITO・レン・がくぽ】龍ノ啼ク箱庭拠り(合せてみた)【バナナイス】 (...Place banana?)
[link]

3. "Black and White Genealogy" 白と黒の系譜
[link]

4.[Miku] Can't I Even Dream? 夢見てもいいじゃないの

Actually... think that would be really amusing to see.
Poor Julian. XDDD

I have low tolerance to low quality work. This is pretty darn bad of me, of course. But I believe we should reward good ideas -and- hard work at the same time. Mark one up for effort, really. That's probably the best way to show people that they really have to step up their game in this free-for-all community. This means, of course, that the over-all quality will increase as a result.

(A-ha! Knew you'd like "Fear garden". The friend who sent it to me said "You'll like this one" to me, too. And if you liked "Breathe", I think I might be able to recommend something else to you, too.)

Hmmm... Know 2 out of 4 from this new collection. The first one is a demo song when Gakupo was first introduced. It was based on a song by J-rock personality Gackt (who, of course, provided his name and his voice to create "Kamui Gakupo"). It's a pretty high-quality work because it's a demo... got to impress the people right off the bat, right? The second one isn't bad, either. There are several versions (by different Vocaloids and one alternative version) out there. The story with "Black and white Geneology" seems to suggest this song was sung by Len Kagamine and Ren Haine (a fan'loid who sings anoctave lower than Len). It's not bad at all. And I like "Can't I even dream" very much. Thank you!

Now, I suppose it's my turn again:
1. Kamui Gakupo, Scream: http ://www.youtube .com/watch?v= PEjgJk_cmKg (Sorry, DA will change parts of this into a smiley again... But... you might like this one.)
2. Kagamine Len, Boukoku Kakusei CaTharsis [亡國覚醒カタルシス]: Originally by AliProject
3. Hatsune Miku, Scissorhands: [link]
4. Gakupo, Under the darkness: [link]

(Hmm.... Gakupo-heavy this time around. No problem; will improve next time. Hope you like these ones!)

"Poor Julian"? Boy, if there's anyone in th equation who's not "poor", it's Julian. Hate to say this, but he's got it coming to him. Besides, I should probably inform him that the last time I saw a man being sewn into a wedding dress for a music video... he actually looked good...

(Hein... one project at a time. You don't want to end up swamped.)

I see what you mean... Yes, they could of/can do better. I do not disagree, that's why things like constructive criticism are nice and useful tools... Though sometimes, it results in someone blowing up in your face. If not the original creator... then the fans, thinking your just insulting the creator. But always...It's nice to see effort.

But yes... Good ideas and hard work should be rewarded.

(Hah ha... Yeah... Fear Garden was quite amuseing indeed~)

I knew that Gackt had provided his voice and name for our dear Kamui... I just figured you might like it. But yes... You must always impress the audience to gain interest. I wondered about, "Black and white Geneology". I am aware of fanloids. However... I had no idea who was singing which one was singing with Len... There are lots out there. "Can't I even dream" is one of my personal favorites, and you're very welcome. ^^

I rather liked scream. Kamui looked rather sinister in the video I found for it... Is it just me or is Mister Kamui portrayed as a vampire quite often. If not the vampire... than it's the Scholar/warrior. I guess he does pull it off quite well. I also liked "Scissor hands a lot too" Miku looked so sad.

My turn:

1. 【Kagamine Rin】「Dolls」
I think you might enjoy this one

2.[Luka] Caged Baby Dragon 籠の中の雛龍
[link]

3. Song of the Pitch Black Forest with English Sub - Miku - まっくら森の歌
[link]

4.Festival of Asylum with English Sub - Hatsune Miku - 庇護祭
[link]

It's fine... It's fine ^^

... Can I make the dress then?

(Oh, never worry. We aren't always the masters of our time. If you need to be away, please don't hesitate. I am sure I will understand.)

I don't usually contact other fans. I don't usually publically share my opinions, either. Everything has its place, and sometimes these places can be difficult to find. Th Vocaloid phenomenon is extraordinary in the sense that it gave creative freedom to amateurs. Common folks like you and me get to participate ane be recognised for the hard work we put into the project. And this means, of course, we want to reward the good ones so that we can help to draw out even better ones. Well-deserved praises is the incentive for the common people to go forward - they don't get paid for doing this, they have to give up their time and sleep to create these - and that's why we give praise where it's due. The creators themselves (mostly from Asia)don't complain and whin It's the fans who whine - and for no good reason. No matter how we defend a personal favouite, there will always be someone who will disagree. And no matter how a piece is attacked, we have to remember that the actual artists do not see these comments. Methink the fans doth protest too much; and too much of it wasted air.

Hmm... Like what I said about Gakupo - it is because of the man who lent him the voice that fans create a specifi look and aesthetic to him. It's unavoidable, almost. Which makes me wonder about the effectiveness of Gakupo as a Vocaloid. After all, these 'loids are supposed to be more versatile than real artists, yes? If we type-cast them, it almost defeats the purpose.

I like this new collection for the videos more than the music. The instumentals were great in each case, but the singing leaves something to be desired. I think it has to do with the high pitches that some musicians tend to favour; especially for Miku. I'm not a fan of this style and that's why I favour some of the "older" 'loids for more balanced voice range. I can't help but to think that they start to sound more metallic when we drive them to the end of their ranges.

Let's see... for something else:
1. Hatsune Miku, Twilight Circus [黄昏サーカス] [link]
(This one combine the faint horror theme as well as the doll theme with a rather interesting video. You might like it.)

2. Gakupo + Gakuko Nishiki no mai [錦の舞, the dance of the fine dress]Once again, for a dramatic video finish...

3. Meiko, Shura no hana [修羅の花] [link] (If you've watched "Kill Bill vol. 1", you might recognise this song. Just a matter of interest, the original singer's name is Meiko Kaji...)

4. Meiko, Metal suite-Transilvania [メタル組曲-Transilvania] [link] (This s a departure from where we have been... but it shows the versatility of the older Vocaloids and the range of music they can reach. Not half bad, really.)

If you wish... go right ahead. This ought to be grand fun.
And really. One thing at a time.

(Again, I do apologize for being gone for so long...)

Yeah... Sometimes they can't seem to control their comments. But these things happen. Even if the criticism is innocent and far from insulting. People still get angry. And I do agree; sometimes it's nothing more than wasted air and pointless rage.

I do honestly appreciate it though, what the artist create... Fully and truly.

Believe it or not...He does not pop up nearly as much when it comes to things like fan art and what not.. Miku seems more popular than Gakupo when it comes to that... I do wonder the same thing about Gakupo sometimes.

(Oh my... This brings up some interesting memories. I remember stumbling across a video of Hatsune Miku vs. Ronald McDonald. Miku won... And my friend drew a fan art of-- Ronald Miku... The reds... the yellows. I remember that image so well... -twitches- Miku with red hair and clown make-up kind of bothered me o.o)

I am familiar with Twilight circus. Heh heh~ It's another one that's in my favorites. Ah yes.. I remember Kill Bill Vol. 1, very well.. It's been quite some time since I've last watched it. I do recognize the song... And the original singer shared the name of Meiko as well? I thank you for a bit of that info. Oh and I really enjoyed Gakupo + Gakuko Nishiki no mai. It's now one of my favorites XD

Now.. I shall send you my round:

Yep... Another by Natsu-P^^

2. 【初音ミクオリジナル曲】 Lucifer(ルシフェル) 【あわあわP】

3. Hatsune Miku "裏表ラバーズ" Two-Faced Lovers with English Sub

SinistrosePhosphate In reply to Orochitachi [2010-03-16 05:36:49 +0000 UTC]

That's just it... a lot of people show their love a little too over-zealously. It is almost as if they fear they would be disputed... so they go out and try to "fight back" first. Of course, most of us are a lot less judgemental than we would like to imagine "them" to be, so this attitude eventually turns into a bit of a toxic swamp. Then again, now that we recognise this phenomenon... not only should we never join in it, but we should be on the look out for it so we do not inadvertantly participate in it.

Oh... the reason why Gakupo doesn't appear very often in fanarts are actually relatively simple. He's tough to draw and tougher to draw well. Furthermore, everyone's into the "Cuteness" factor, male and females alike. A lot of the fanart artists are actually males (hey, there's me, right?). We are less inclined to draw pretty males than we are to draw pretty females. That's why you'll notice that a lot of the original fan'loids are all female (Yawane Haku, Akita Neru, Tako Luka...) There's a good reason that doesn't involve Gakupo himself (or Gackt, for that matter).

(Oh, the MacDonald-meme... it's a meme that started from the Touhou fandom which had crossed over to the Vocaloid fandom. As you can readily imagine, there are a lot of crossovers between the two of them. Well... this one is definitely among one of the stranger memes that had come out of this strange fan-driven world. And... I don't know what else to say about that anymore...)

You know... I'm starting to like the Natsu-P team. These people know what they are doing. I liked this one a lot, too. "Lucifer"...? The music's OK, but the singing isn't balanced. But you are right, it was quite interesting. "Two-faced Lovers" was just fun. The video was a lot more provocative than what meets the eye, too. This one gets a plus from me. And finally, "D and A" wasn't bad, either. I think it's time for me to keep up the good work here.

1. Kaito, Len, Gakupo - Satsugestuga [刹月華, "Elegent scenary with each season"] Yes... more Natsu-P!

2. Megpoid - Goodbye to Alice [アリスにさよなら] A new-comer to the scene

3. Gakupo - Last song [link]

4. Kaito, Gakupo - Koi no fuga Something lighter, just for fun

... er... brace myself? Check.

When I was much younger... I used to be that way, luckily, I'm passed that point in my life.

Started in Tohou? You don't say...I've only seen the Vocaloid versions so far...

The McDonald meme scares me, that's for sure. Ronald was a frighting icon of my child hood... I still remember the Ronald statues they sat by the McDonald play area. His frozen smile kept me looking over my shoulder... >______<

But thankfully - I'm over that as well. Unfortunately, it still bothers me from time to time. With the Meme... :<

I'm glad you liked it, I'll try to send some more in the future. ^^
Let's hope they just keep coming out with the music video's and songs.

There was quite a bit to look at in "Two faced lovers" video. It really is interesting to see/hear these types of messages in these.

Alright... My turn... (This is way late I know.. It was crammed far in back of my message stack ><)

1. 【English/Romaji Subs】 Monochrome ∞ Blue Sky 【Hatsune Miku】
[link] (Don't know how you're going to feel about this one.)

2.【初音ミク】Silence【PV】
I find this one interesting...

3.Before Dark Woods Circus : "Wide knowledge of the late, Madness"
I liked this because It was just creepy... XD

4.Demented Miku (Miku Hatsune Version)
[link] (It's interesting to see what people do with the Vocaloid programs)

Now.. Here's another interesting experiment... Pick two songs -instrumental or not- that you love. Pick out one of the two songs of the other participants... and describe what comes to mind.. You don't have to get too in detail if you wish not to. If you feel that this is too much... Then you do not have to participate :3

I thought that this would also be kinda interesting.

1.Mnemosyne OST - 12 - Purity
[link]

2.Mnemosyne OST - 27 - Existence of Eipos

Just let me know what you want to do.

Yes.. Good.. I hope you'll be ready for my dress designs.. -laughs-

Speaking of "very late"... well, Considering that I've disappeared for a tad over a week, I don't think I am in any position to say much, am I?
Thanks for your patience, however. I've had to take the time off to cram for an exam that covered the last 4 year's worth of material. It wasn't exactly... "fun" by no means. Hein, perhaps we can eventually produce "The disappearance of Sinistrose Phosphate" from here. (No, no... even better, "the disappearance of Yuukuri Shine"! Er... more about him later.)

Vocaloid and Touhou... well, the "McDonald" meme definitely came from Touhou but it slowly infected the Vocaloid world. ("Infect" is probably a good word to use here. Heaven knows, I hate clowns with a passion...) If we look at these two "fandom" strictly, this should not come as a surprise. These two remain some of the most fan-driven phenomenon that the world has ever seen. Take Touhou, for example. The creator of the franchise not only actively encouraged the fans to contribute to the world, he even threatened to stop producing any more of the game when large production companies barged in to take over some of the merchandising. And the Vocaloids? Whatever you want, you can make it happen. There is no "cannon" in this world. The merging of these two fandoms is something that you can expect to happen sooner or later. And of course, it did. It was a merger made in the depth of the Internet world (or Nico Nico Douga, at least).

There are no purist, really. The only "purists" are probably folks looking from the outside in. Most people who are looking for a way to express themselves can find some material to work with in either (really, both) of theses fandoms. Crossovers are not only a natural thing, it also creates enough "inside jokes" to keep both sides happy. My little "fanloid" is another example. Sure, he's a fan-made Vocaloid, but his name came from a meme created in the Touhou world. It brings a smile (smirk?) to the faces of fans on both sides.

Ahem... back to the music.
1. Ah, I've heard of this one before. And for some strangest reason under the sun, I kept on thinking that it probably came from an anime somewhere. Perhaps it's because of the catchy tune and the almost-hopeful lyrics that seems so prevalent in the anime world. That's not to say it's a bad thing, no. I tend to think it's a pretty good thing when it's done well.

2. Now, this one I've also heard before. And this one I liked a lot. Just like what you've said, it seems different. I first encountered it in a documentary made on "Miku fever" a while back. And this was one of the songs featured in the documentary. Just think of it - an electronic diva singing in electronic-trance. The idea of it is just brilliant, isn't it?

3. This one I've also heard before (Sounds like a recurring theme here tonight, isn't it?) I heard it when I linked out from "Darkwoods Circus". The way I see it is that it's not bad for its time, but it could certainly do better. Similar to "Darkwoods circus", it's not bad - but there's definitely room to grow.

4. I haven't heard this one at all - but I've certainly encountered this motif in the past. I'm a gore-hound, you see; I love horror movies. Eerie, disembodied singing voices is not only common, but it's also a "tried, tested and true" measure that adds something more to an otherwise ambient song. But there is a caveat to all of it - it's still background music after all; ambient sound. When there is no supporting measure somewhere else, the horror effect of it takes a step back. The "lyrics", like what the creator said, is also quite atrocious. It almost makes me wish that the creator would ditch the Orientalism conferred by Miku Hatsune and badly-translated lyris and develop something that's more closer to home. That's how horror goes: the closer to "reality" it is, the more horrifying it becomes.

5,6. Well... this tells me how out of the loop I really am. I've never heard of this anime before. But the music is interesting, all right. In fact, you can hear the mirror image of "Dementia" in "Existence of Eipos" - they may sound very different on the outset, but the concept is exactly the same. That being said... when things calm down a little more, I think I'll hunt down this series.

Right... now that the ball is in my court.
1. Kagamine Len, Rin - 鏡音八八花合戦 [Kagamine hachi-hachi Flower Battle] [link]
(Here's something slightly different... grown-up voices for the Kagamine)

2. Kagamine Len, Rin - 送墓唄 [Soubo-uta, Song of funeral procession] [link]
(Horror - done in a very different way. Musically, it's significant for the syncopated interlocking melodies that sets it apart from most duets. Thematically, it's significant for the fire-and-brimstone content that is seen from the little monsters and imps who live around the cemetary. The tone is similar to that of "From Cradle to the Grave", but without someone explaining the lyrics, one'd never have imagined the contents.)

3. Hiyama Kiyoteru - Pane dhiria [link]
(Once again, a different concept of being different. Hiyama Kiyoteru is one of the newest Vocaloid on the market and another one that's created by a different company. The song in this case is also far away from the usual affair.)

4. Kaito, Meiko - siGrE (血色) [Colour of blood] [link]
(I've been told that this was originally sung by the Kagamine twins. However, I find this version a tad more interesting. Then again... this might be the most mundane of everything I have to offer this time around...)

5. Main Theme of Le Portrait de Petit Cossette (sic): [link]
6. Ending theme (Houseki) of Le Portrait de Petit Cossette (sic) [link]
(Here's something else from an otherwise obscure anime; just to return the favour. I'm curious about what you might think of the music.)

Now, of course I'll be waiting for your dress designs.
It's nice to have that exam over and done with.

Hmm... here's something else that I'd like your opinion on; something of a slightly different matter. I wonder, if I open up for requests, would anyone take up on the offer?

Well.. I'm glad that you're back now. It's nice to know that things are steadily returning back to normal for you. It's very nice to have you around again... "Sinny"~~~

-smiles-

Yes, yes... Our friend had told me about the nickname she had given you. Funny, I was thinking the same thing... but that's beside the point. XD

Yes.. back to the music.

1. Ah-ha! I thought this one was quite fun. Though the twins kept switching roles it seemed... Hearing them with 'older voices' was very interesting. I pleasant change that I rather liked ^^

2. This one... made me smile for some odd reason. I enjoyed it, the interlocking melodies were quite fun to listen to.

3. I had some mixed feeling about this one. Perhaps I should look into Hiyama Kiyoteru a bit more.

4. Hmmmmm... change from what was put out previously... But I enjoyed it, I've never heard this one before.

5 and 6... I've heard of 'Le Portrait de Petit Cossette'. I've never had a chance to watch it though. Our friend has seen some of the series and has told me a little about it. I really enjoy the soundtrack though. It's very beautiful and quite haunting. ^^

For me, an interesting scene comes to mind when I hear the Main theme: A 'hunting' scene. Fallowed by a duel to the death.

Some poor lad trying to escape the hands of his hunter. He ends up cornered and in one last fit of rebellion; he turns to face his hunter. Only to ultimately fail and fall victim by their blade.

Eh... I'm odd.

I like creating scenes with music... And sometimes it just happens without any push. o.o

It really helps when you try to write sometimes.

Mnemosyne is quite interesting anime. However, there are a few things that will make you raise a brow. Overall, it's a very interesting series. But who am I to judge? -shrugs-

I'm gonna cosplay Rin! -the girl you see in the pic-

My turn:

1.【初音ミク】ツギハギ惨毒【オリジナル曲】
( wish I could find an english-subbed version of this) [link]

2.【KAITOオリジナル】逆罪行進曲【大正風ロック】
[link] (Eh.. the vocals could be better.. But, I find it interesting and I still like it all the same.)

3. Megurine Luka - Megurine-ke no Panicooking -Gyuudon-hen- - VOCALOID
Natsu-p!

4. 【Miku&Gakupo】 Last Protocol (Original Song)
I rather like this one. Natsu-p!

On to the other part~

1. Rule Of Rose OST - Piano Etude I (Rule Of Rose)
[link]

2. Rule Of Rose OST - The Attic
[link]

I enjoyed this game very much. Ahhh, I still remember the loooong nights I had stayed up, trying to beat it. That was about 4 years ago... (not that this bit of info matters o.o)

Oh. The memories!

------------------------------------------------------

Hope you don't mind corset and lace designs.

I think that's a wonderful idea! I think people would take you up on that. I say.. DO IT! ^^

SinistrosePhosphate In reply to Orochitachi [2010-05-05 16:54:56 +0000 UTC]

Sorry about replying late again.
I went to an interview on Monday that required me to take a 3-hour long flight.
Oh, what we wouldn't do to secure a future, hein?

"Sinny"... reminds me of the movie "My counsin Vinny". For some reason, it reminds me of the type of lovaable bad guy in an anime. I guess I... like (?) this nickname? And thanks for the responses to last time's music selection, too! More on that later. (Before I forget... "Le Portrait de Petite Cossette" only has 3 episodes. That should make it a tad easier to locate? There's also a manga that came out later. But the manga storyline is slightly different from the anime, with a very different ending.)

1.I've heard this one before! Now, Machigerita-P seems to specialise in these "horror-type" music. She had also produced "Rotten Girl, Grotesque Romance" that I've sent you before, as well as the "Dark woods forest" saga. She's quite prolific and quite specific in what she does... but she does it well.

2. Oh, I've heard this one before. Just like what you said, the music could be better. The artwork is probably what makes this one stand out. It's something I've seen before; call it "Art Deco" period in Japan, if you will...

3. This... is cute! I guess I shouldn't be watching it around lunch time, either... (This reminds me... Natsu-P has created an album based on Kaito, Len and Gakupo. It's called 'VanaN'ice". It includes "Imitation Black", "Fate:Rebirth", "Setsugetsuka" and "Paranoid Doll". He called them "Singles" for the visual-kei band.)

4. On that note... Natsu-P and his team are also prolific. Unlike Mechigerita-P, however, this team is a lot more versatile. They range from the sacchrine-cute "Mugurine-ke" to decent rock songs like "Imitation Black" as well as anime-oriented "Last protocol". I'm going to say that I've got my eyes fixed on this team. I'm curious about what they'll come up with in the future. (I have their blog "Seven Coloured Light" saved as a favourite...)

5, 6. Never heard of this game... but then again, I don't have a game console at all. The only game console I've had is this old SNES which... have since disappeared into the woodworks of the house, never to be seen again. But the music here is quite nice, indeed. Perhaps, perhaps... I should consider an investment eventually. Look at all the things I've been missing!

... All right, my turn, yes...?
1. Megurine Luka "Fluticasone" [link]
"Fluticasone" is an asthmatic inhaler used for moderately severe asthma control. This song is intriguing for both the electronica-style music and the tie-in between the lyrics, the style and the title (and the health implications. Call me a sap, won't you?

2. Kagamine Len, Rin 闇のダンスサイト [Naka no Dansu-saito, Dance-site of Darkness] - [link]
This most likely came from the same producer who did "Soubo-uta". This producer only works with Rin and Len, and distinguishes him-/herself with the interlocking melodies. The interesting thing with this artist is that the songs usually come out in trios - one for Len, one for Rin and one with the interlock. There are two more songs from the "soubo-uta" series as well.

3. Yowane Haku 白ノ娘 [Shiroi musume, daughter of white] - [link]
Most Vocaloid fans have heard of the "Daughter of evil" story by mothy-P and Akuno-P. The story started with "Daughter of evil", "Servant of evil" and continued to "Letter of Regret" and "re: Birthday". However, what the producers didn't anticipate is that people have created "Prince of Blue", "Warrior of Red" and "Daughter of green" by subbing new story-element lyrics into the "Daughter of evil" song. Well... Mothy-P is back to give us a brand new song from the ever-growing story. This time, it's from the Yowane Haku's point of view. (I've always liked Haku a lot, this one's pretty impressive.)

4. Kagamine Len 風花舞 [Kazegana mai, "Wind-flower-dance"] - [link]
In the interest of introducing completely different things to you, here's another one of those "Japanesque" songs that you probably wouldn't have come across otherwise. This one is... simple and clean. The voice encoding isn't bad, either. It's just a simple, yet touching song.

------------------------------------------
Me? Lace and corsets?
No, no... as long as I don't have to wear them myself, it's all good!

Well... I'm in the preparation stages, I guess.
I've had one bad experience trying to sell art in the past - but it was a long time ago and it was a really horrid experience. I certainly don't want to repeat it again!

You have out done yourself again mon amie. Though I am not much if a vocaloid fan like Ash, I do respect the art work.

Well, well... I have to try, right? No point standing still in once place when people around me are improving all the time. I've got to be careful here, otherwise I'd be left behind!

Thanks for the comment!

I like the Vocaloid project idea, but it took me a long while to warm up to it (I had seen its prototype in the early 1990's and didn't like it much). And... I suppose... if you give me a long enough period of time, my geekiness will eventually leak out through the seams...

Thank you very, very much!

It's a depature for me, really. This one is a deliberate re-creation of the music video's artistic style superimposed on my previously-established characters.

It's another one of my mad experiments. It means a lot when people actually like it!

It is a screenshot from the movie Constantine (2005).

This reminds me...

You were looking for two photos, right? This was... about the time when I first met you, I think. But... anyway... I've got good news and bad news.

Good news: [link]
Bad news: [link]
(This one is "bad news" for two reasons. One, the picture has words on it. Two, the person who did the compilation made a mistake. This is -not- Kamijo. He is Hakuei of Penicillin.)

Oh, you didn't forget! How nice! Thank you so much!!!

Oh, he looks a lot like Kamijo. I can see how they mistook him for him. He's hott, though! XD Thanks!

SinistrosePhosphate In reply to Lost-Remnant [2010-02-22 05:45:25 +0000 UTC]

Nope... I don't forget a promise.
It just took me a long time because... well, I've been busy otherwise.

Hakuei's "Curly long hair look" (didn't last for too long, unfortuantely) was very often compared to Kamijo during the Fiancailles period. It's something that should've clued me in, really. But it wasn't until a friend of mine said "Wait, that's not Kamijo!" did I finally "face-palmed" myself over this little over-sight.

Somewhere out on the internet is a larger version of that picture without the words. But I don't know if you really want it or not.

Glad to know you like the pictures.

I might have to look this guy up. I'm curious about him now.

Nah, but thanks. I'll probably look him up later, though. ^_^

I do! Thank you so much! I appreciate it a lot!

That's not a problem at all.
By helping you out, I've found something that I thought I'd never find. So the process worked out great for both of us. Therefore, please think nothing of it.

Hakuei is a legendary figure, and the band Penicillin has a spot in many of the older fan's heart. Worth checking out, I think.

This reminds me, if you are familiar with Kaori Yuki's "Ludwig Revolution", there's a (well-founded) rumour that the title character owes part of his look to this Hakuei as well...
