I love the texturing and finish on this blade.
Is the blacksmithing your own work?
The cross guard and grip wrap have a clean and functional look.
It appears to be a good quality and authentic weapon.

Thankyou. Although I did make the blade, I have to admit that it isn't forged, you can achieve this textured simply with an angle grinder. As for the finish I blackened it with heat and oil. I have tried to stick to historic dimensions, and I would love to hand forge a blade one day.

I wouldn't have suspected an angle grinder, but it looks really good with the oiled finish.
What did you think of my own blades?
I forge both iron and high carbon steel, using hard wood charcoal or coal to reach 1800 degrees.
My intention is to craft a channel forge with a wood and leather bellows later this year.
I should be able to work blades as long as four feet plus the tang.
It will all depend on my work for Harley Davidson, the farming and horse ranching though.
And I am anxious to return to Iceland in the Autumn for a more extensive backpacking excursion.
I am always planning ahead for further adventures.
Thank you for corresponding though. It's nice to have someone to share my interests with.
You are always welcome to write about your reenactments, riding or craftsmanship.
You've got a lot of talent and good taste for such an accomplished young woman.
Be well, and keep in touch.
