Oh? I would really curious to see picture you were preferring - as I figured out that oddness was caused by combat doctrines mixed in picture. Use of massed charges, cavalry and bayonets faded after First World War, while Finns hit-and-run squad tactics would had been unthinkable in WW1 era generals (such opportunism would had been seen as lack of discipline and worse, lack of respect for commanding officers).

That bayonet seems still quite odd and Russian text makes makes me wonder if this some sort of propaganda photo. They tented to use pretty old-style tactics especially early years of war and thus bayonet might be just error caused lack of checked details.

I can't recall any old news documents from those war where would have been Finns with bayonets attached. Then again, I has to admit, I haven't really payed that serious attention for that factor either. Next time I maybe should. Then again, I have seen propaganda clip where Finns do ski with gas-mask on even Soviet forces didn't use gas-weapons against them, so sometimes it is hard to say what is finally accurate.

Hehehe. If he is truly Simo himself, then he would have for sure had not wearn bayonet unles propaganda purpose.

I mean, he was expert sniper with suomikonepistooli as for a close quarters... he sure wouldn't had useded bayoned for anything. That fellow even put snow to his smouth to prevent vapor giving up his location, so why he would keep bayonet that is completely useless but could reflex sunlight and worst case give up a position?

Way or another, Häyhä or not, it is still propaganda poster.

Heh. There is no bad weather, just poor gear for it. Althought if you ask me, I haven't yet figure out any reasonable gear for hot weather, adding clothing is just far more easier than get rid of your skin.

Dacing sucks ass because you don't know how to dance, you don't like to dance or you afraid that you won't get to chance to dance should you attent? I personally like to dance but usually not dancing because the last reason, less disapointing that way.

Ball-room dances would had been same, no pair for me... luckily I managed to overspeak friend to tag along. Sadly, our supervizing teacher was boring and didn't let me wear 18th century count's suit... it is so unfair that females are allowed to have fancy dresses but males has to wear suits.

Math and chemisty are nice subjects, especially chemistry if they let you make... experiences. *insert mad scientist laugher* Cost of books is still awkward thing... and I expect there is no second-hand books around to be used?

I can image. Exchange studers tend to spice up things. ^^ Too bad they tend to be around quite short time... Heh. Send her invitation to visit. ^^
