Next part with Jenna is half way done, but before it continues with her, i wanna give Nilou from Genshin Impact a little spotlight~

Rainy version: Nilou in quicksand (rainy version)

Also a big thanks to my friend  who wrote this awesome story for it! ^^

"Lets see...one step this way....half step....skip....and then...twirl!"
The gentle noise of a running stream cascaded around the air in the rainforest just outside of Sumeru city proper, backed up by distant
noises of creatures and lumbering sumpter beasts on what could not be described as anything other than perfect sunny day.
Small, nearly silent footfalls impacted the grass under a lone Red-haired woman as she closed her eyes and lost herself in her well practiced
steps and dance moves.  This girl was of course Nilou, star of the Zubayr Theater nestled within the grand Bazaar of the grand city Sumeru.
The kind, warm hearted dancer frequently practiced outside of the city, even as far as the scorching dangerous desert to the west, despite the
risks she was quite capable of handling herself, and the change of scenery every time she practiced did wonders for her avoiding any sort of mental
burnout or repetition.  Not that this was ever a worry for Nilou, her love of her art was matched only by her love for nature and making others happy
with her performances, something she took very seriously.

Hot off the heels of defeating the Akedemyia scholars in a fierce debate to safeguard the theaters continued existence, as fixing a family along the way.
The carefree performer wanted to enjoy her next day to the fullest, and what better way than to head out into the cool calm rainforest and practice and
develop a new dance?
"I want to make this one special...for Lumine and Lord Kusanali and Dunyarzad and all the others who helped us end the chaos plaguing our nation.
I have to keep at it! No matter how tired I get!."
These thoughts bounced around Nilou's head like pinballs, just as much as her slender body tossed and turned with every movement, as graceful as a goddess.
Nilou had styled herself after the ancient Sumeru Goddess of dance, her metal horn ornaments a testament to how dedicated she was to her craft.  Nilou of
course had her hydro vision, granted to her after her debut performance by some divine mandate, as all visions are.  This allowed her to add extra flourish to her
finishing steps and moves.  Not to mention the utility it had if she found herself in a dangerous position while outside the city.

"The fungi seem to be rather sparse today, its al-huh...looks like I spoke too soon."
Several pyro Fungi waddled out of a nearby underbrush, seeing Nilou as yet another creature to harass, little did the creatures
know just how bad of a mistake they had just committed too.
Nilou materialized her decorated sword and assumed a combative dance position she had practiced, leaping forward with a large spinning bound, landing straight
in between the group of pyro slimes.  It was time.
"Dance with the waves!" shouted the hydro magic infused girl as she channeled her elemental vision power into a huge deluge of water all around her as if it was a flower blooming.
This caught the Fungi so off guard that they were all soaked and stunned, allowing Nilou to finish them off with a just as quick twirling sword dance that struck all of them in a
mesmerizing display of her skill and precision.  Nilou performed one final flourish step and closed her eyes, striking a finishing pose and feeling very safe once again.
"Haah...I don't like doing that to those things but...better than ending up knocked out or worse on the ground aha."
Little did the Dancer know, her problems were just beginning.

The girl failed to notice how much her hydro burst had upset the muddy dirty terrain around her, her dance moves had caused her to land on a clearing of
soft earth near the River, so it had already been agitated and waterlogged by groundwater.   This formed a very mucky and very soft and deep layer of mud that
had a quicksand like effect on anything too heavy for it to support...and unfortunately for Nilou, even her lightfooted self was too heavy.  Not that she noticed yet
however, she was still frozen in her finishing pose, letting the cool gentle wind caress her as she thought about what to do next.
"Its so nice out today...i think thats enough practice, I was going to meet the Traveler and Paimon at the Cafe for a snack!~ ehehe~"
Nilou attempted to move her feet to begin walking but...couldn't.
"Huh? w-w-what THE!?"
She had been so focused on holding her finishing pose that she didn't even notice herself sinking into the soft, muddy ground as it was already reaching her waist.
"O-oh no I was wondering what that sinking feeling was! Not good!"  Nilou struggled against the suction, using all the energy she could muster to try to pull her legs
out of the thick morass, but the only progress she was making was further down.
"T-this is worrying, is there even anyone around to help? Hello!?"

"No, you can't just, give up that easily and wait for help.  That never solves anything."
Nilou thought to herself, trying to give herself energy and willpower, her already exhausted state from her practice was not helping the matter.  She had always had
her own inner monologue and ways to deal with things like stress and anxiety, or any other problems life threw at her.  This had built her a very reliable rapport with
her friends and family and co performers, as they often went to her for advice or if they were feeling down and out.  Nilou was all too happy to help them anyway she
could, feeling it was her duty as a friend.  The muck had already conquered her waist and was slowly creeping up her midriff, showing no signs of a bottom or, an end
to the descent yet. She tossed her sword as far away as she could given her position onto more solid ground to free up both her hands.
"Ok deep calm breathes...take all the stress out of your chest and head with your hands....draw a circle in front of you...and..put it all into the circle and push it away! There...all calm."
Nilou looked around, seeing if she could figure out any way to get out of this sucking muck or find anything to grab onto as it tickled her naval.
"How deep is this stuff? I-im not exactly the tallest person but...ok lets..try something!"
The dancer planted a hand into the muck on each side of her, up to this point they remained clean, but this action really made her realize just how sticky the mud was as it
coated her hands and wrist almost as if it was grabbing her like a monster.
"Ok...Push with all your strength!"
Strained, effort full sounds escaped Nilou's mouth as she pressed and fought against the muck with all of her might, using any leverage she could find
to get herself out the trap...and it was slowly working...too slowly.

Despite making noticable progress in extricating her body from the mud, her stamina was not limitless and the suction of the mud proved to not have the same issue with tiring out.
The sweat was already beginning to form on the unlucky Nilou's forehead, from under her beautiful hair and head ornament.
"Cmon...dig deep! W-wait...wrong thing to think right now!...Don't stop pushing and fighting!"
Nilou continued to hype herself up and coach herself as she always had during her performances, but she finally hit her limit and her body relaxed
once more as she panted intensely...her waist, midriff, naval and now stomach plunging down even deeper into the trap that clung and coiled around her like a Snake.
Nilou sighed and rested for a minute, trying to shake the heavy mud off that was now coating her hands and parts of her arms.
"I...I can't get out like this... its so thick and is sucking me down like a whirlpool...what am I going to do?"
A lightbulb exploded above her in the air as she had a Eureka moment.
"Wait..whirlpool!"
She had in her worry, forgotten about her Hydro vision, maybe she could somehow, effect the terrain even more with it and swim her way to safe ground,
or at least the river.  Nilou focused her elemental power....yet...nothing happened.
"Why isn't it working? it...oh no....I didn't even think of that."

Visions were strong tools, however they had some unique limitations.  The vision's physical manifestation, which was usually a colored Jewel not different
from a cut gemstone, had to be visible on one's person to be usable at all.  They couldn't be hid in a pocket, or under clothing.
Most people opted to make necklaces or clothing ornaments out of them, as Nilou did on a bow on the back of her outfit....the part of her outfit that was
now deep under the muddy abyss with most of her body now.  "Oh thats...thats really bad!"  Despite her best efforts, panic began to set in as thoughts raced
through her head like gliders on the winds of the Anemo Archon.  What if she couldn't escape? What if it was deeper than she was? Was she going to disappear here forever?
"Im...scared. Someone help me..."
Nilou took a deep breath as the muck reached the upper half of her chest.
"Heeeeeeellllllllllllllllllllp!!!"
The girl didn't quite care if anything "bad" was around that would hear her shout.  She'd take help from anything right now.  Anything was better than drowning in
the ground, she remained as still and calm as she could, hoping it would slow her descent and awaited any kind of rescue and slowly allowed her stamina to rebuild in case she needed it.

Twenty minutes passed and Nilou still found herself descending, the muck now rising around her neck like it was getting ready to smother her.
"I-i can't believe this...this is all my fault, I should have been more careful and aware of my surroundings..."
Nilou closed her eyes and sighed.
"Lord Kusanali...Nahida...please...if you can see or hear me somehow, help...please."
The only thing above the mud was her head and one of her hands, the other simply resting under the surface, it too relaxed in the grabby clutches of the hungry ground.
A couple of tears escaped her eyes.
"This sure is a low point...great...another bad pun!"
The worry filled girl tilted her head back before the muck rose over her mouth, leaving more of her flowing red hair above the surface than her face, wanting as much
time as possible above the surface to take in as much air as she could...she wasn't entirely sure why...she wasn't getting out without help at this point.
"Heeeeeeeeellllllllllllllp!!!"
she shouted again, doing her best to not agitate the mud and quicken her submergence.
"Beauty...don't leave me."
Nilou tried to calm herself as well by quoting her favorite book and reassuring herself.  Suddenly, she thought she heard approaching footfalls against grass just
at the edge of her hearing range.
"I-is someone there...please...HEEEEEEEEELP-mmgpmh!. ppwwaaah!"
Her last cry for help was cut off by the muck as it climbed over her mouth like a gag as she did her best to spit and sputter it out and keep herself above as long as possible.
"Heeelellll! pmh Im--hmhpmh! Guh! Mmpmh!"
It was no use.  She couldn't fight gravity and the hold of the muck anymore and her face finished its submergence, blotting out her sight and nose and
ears all at once like a blanket was being forced over her face as she did her best to extend her arm and keep her hands above.
Bubbles from quickly escaping oxygen causing the surface to look like a pot of boiling liquid.

"Oh this...this is so scary...was that someone I heard nearby? they never called back...maybe I was just hearing things...starting to feel...dizzy."
Her air was quickly leaving her as lightheadedness set in and clouded her mind.  She hoped whatever came next wasn't too painful or drawn out.
"Im going to...pass out......h-..ee..rre...h-huh?"
Suddenly, the fading dancer felt something grab onto her arm and hand, or at least she thought she did.
"Is...that?...is my brain playing...tricks on me at the end..how cruel...n-no..stay hopeful...oh...so...tired."
She needed air, badly and none of it was to be found where she was, surrounded by blackness.  Just as the bright eyed performer was about to black out,
she felt a forceful lurch all around herself and suddenly was able to open her mouth and breathe and could see the sun and sky again!
Several quick coughs and hacks followed as she spat out some of the yucky substance and slowly wiped it from her eyes...was she saved?
or was her mind trying to ease her end?
"W-where..what happened? How did I..."
Nilou felt a hand rest on her muddy shoulder and another on her head in a caring gesture.
"Wow, that was a close one, im glad we got here in time."
Wait that voice Nilou thought...is that...
"Yeah! its a good thing Paimon can fly! I found her just in time! I think Paimon deserves a nice treat for this! Ehehe!~"
The other voice sighed.
"Never change Paimon...haha. Hey Nilou, are you ok?"
It was of course the traveler, the blonde haired heroine Lumine.  Nilou felt a wave of warmness and safety flow over her as her body's oxygen
stabilized itself, the exhausted girl glistening with sweat.
"Oh..oh...thank the goddess! I thought I was gonna...how did you find me? I never told you I was out here...or anyone for that matter."

Lumine smiled.
"Nahida told us, its hard to explain but...ever since we got into contact with her and helped her...shes been able to speak to me whenever she wants,
anywhere she wants.  I can't really say much more about it than that though. An Aranara saw you in danger and, informed her of it."
Nilou looked confused as she rubbed more of the muck off her face.
"An...Aranara?"
Lumine giggled and told the thankful girl not to worry about it, stressing that she was happy that NIlou was safe now.
"Lumine...thank you so much...i can't put it into words...its like a butterfly is about to burst out of my chest."
Lumine smiled and winked.
"Its ok Nilou, the least we can do for such a good friend."
Nilou beamed back at the traveler. "Well...we...still had that date didn't we?..i'll wash off in the river and I can dry myself when we get back to Sumeru city"
Lumine giggled and nodded while Paimon floated excitedly nearby.
"Finally! Im starving!"
The three returned to Sumeru, Nilou having learned an important lesson to always remain cautious and to not lose herself in her practice ever again,
who knows what might happen if she did it again?

I hope you like it!
