Description
done in PSI've been working with author Andre Sergoyan to develop some interior art for one of his novels in the Sword of Perithia series [out later this year]. In the process of doing some chapter page borders we were going to integrate a sword, which ultimately came to be the Sword of Perithia. I had drawn up some quick sketches and this was the one he wanted to go with. From right, the quick sketch, then the line drawing and then the full grayscale that will be in the book. I should have the other concepts up sometime later as time permits.

Wow. That's an awesome sword. I first thought it's in a sheath. 
btw. I noticed that your swords tend to be very short. Can you say why?

Yeah, the blade was to be a split blade and it was supposed to have jeweled thing in the center so I can see how you'd think it was sheathed.
I have to come up with mystic lettering all the time for different illustrations so I've gotten reasonably good at doing it.
It can be problematic sometimes make it all look coherent and similar.
As to short swords... well, some may not be as short as you think. 
I used to do wood sword fighting when I was younger and really long blades are heavy and often impractical. Especially fighting in tight spaces. I know in anime and some fantasy rpg video games there is a trend toward really large ridiculous weapons that noone could actually wield.
I was thinking of making a size chart of some of the weapons I've done and putting that up. Maybe I'll do that tomorrow or monday.

I see. Well, okay the extremly large anime swors, I like them, but more in a fun way, since they really aren't realistic at all.

It will be interesting to see a bunch of them all combined together.
Many are probably short swords. Some are 2-handed and just may not seem like it.
I don't do many thin blades, no. Do you mean like rapiers? Fencing style swords?

No, not rapirs. I actually just noticed that I explained a bit wrong what I meant. I meant not onehande swords but one/ twohaned swords, like e.g. Anuril, aragorns sword from LotR. It is not a n ultimate long twohanded sword, but still relatiely long and thin. You know this sword here of yo is if you compare length to width ver short and thick. This is of cours extreme here because of the splitted blae.
