I've got the skill. My brain is off all the time when someone's talking to me, until they ask something like "Right?"
And my head automatically nods and I say "So true." XD

What if they asked 'Right?' to something that you might not agree on?

I can do that. I can look at a person like I'm listening intensely, but really, I'm not hearing a word they say

In one of the books that I'm reading, the main character's teacher tends to go on long rants that can last for half an hour or more. When this happens, the main character just sits and follows him with his gave so as to look like he's listening, when really he's completely tuning him out .

but the greatest skill of all is when you are staring into space, the teacher asks you to answer a question and you figure it out and answer quick enough for them to think you were paying attention
