Description

An Ordinance to declare the secession between the Democratic Party and as of the declaration of the first convention of a new force of politic- we- men of the natural order shall break ties from the corrupt and flawed Democratic Party.
We, the men of former Democratic standing, in convention assembled, do declare and ordain, and it is hereby declared and ordained, that the ordinance adopted by us in convention on the twenty-eighth day of Feburary, in the year of our Lord one thousand eighteen hundred and ninety, the formation of the Naturalist American Party. We declare from this day forward, that the Naturalist American Party shall serve to protect the interests of the American people and her institutions, of protective trade, of states rights, of our Christian duties, and the institution of slavery. Our alliance and allegiance to the Democratic Party is hereby disbanded in favor of our own political independence.

West of the River
With Benjamin Brown now as President of the American people, its caused an awful lotta fuss. The newly formed Naturalists are especially uppity and out in force in recent months. Even before thier formation, the increasing amount of violence and escalation across the West from hardline pro-slavery Democrats has come to cause great concern over the peoples of the frontier States. From the Red Creek Massacre in Ozark, the Battle of San Francisco, and the Siege of Bullion Heights- one of the "Negrovilles" in Snake River, the militaristic wing of the Democratic- now Naturalist Party has grown out of hand. We must act accordingly and put an end to the violence!
(The fight to end tyranny in democracy requires multiple actions at once. Take three instead of two!)

Guard the Free States- Ultimately, the Texas Rangers, Colorado Frontier Police, and Arizona Minutemen can't cross into the Fraternity and help put down the paramilitary groups such as the Knights of the Golden Circle, and the Bagheads. It's best to stay within our borders and limit the spread of Naturalist elements into Texas. (Solidifies influence over the Free States by ensuring a strict border control on new arrivals, but also chokes the immigration flow a bit as paranoia runs rampant.)

  Railway Marshals- While employed by the few corporations able to hire, Railroad Marshalls to perform security checks and allow for rapid reaction from police forces to train-based or near-railroad crimes would be a major deterrent to potential threats on and around the tracks. (Will increase security on western trains and railroads- especially those in Snake River, Lamar, and Deseret. May lead to a few confrontations and 'innovations' by the Naturalists though.)

  The Maroon Ballot- While Maroon France is a sham of a democracy, they do enjoy thier "democratic theater", one part is strangely useful- the secret ballot, where ones votes are in a private area/booth. While obviously on the French ballots the choices are frauds and shams, perhaps we can make use of it. (Secret ballot voting, or "Maroon Ballots" will be introduced across the Western states, decreasing possible voter intimidation and allowing a more fair and honest democratic vote.)

  Increased Punishments- Increasing the punishments for assault, terrorism, murder, and attempted murder should dissaude a good number of Bagheads and Knights, while we can't pre-emptively check criminals, we can promise any who do dare harm the States and thier people will be made great examples of. (The Penal Codes of 1891 will be drafted and released, and will soon inspire other States out west to do the same.)

  Encourage Militias- The best way to stop these criminals is by banding together as citizens and forming militias of our own. By forming these militias, big and small, we can discourage Baghead attacks by showing we are able and can respond in a numerically superior force. (State and Territorial militias will grow and be formed, as well as local city militias. Of course this may lead to pre-emptive and potentially blunderous attacks from the paranoia.)

  Rangers Training- The Texas Rangers and associated Free States are rather experienced in bush wars thanks to the large frontiers and former hostile Mexican territories, while the Rangers and Minutemen can't enter into Fraternal territory on a military expedition, nothing stops us from doing cross-border exercises and schooling right? (The local State Guards and current territorial defense militias will receive a proper Texian one-two crash course in how to deal with varmint!)

  Petition the President- We need a top-down response, the President himself needs to authorize the Army to come out here and whoop some ass, set a few examples, and show that whatever the fuck the Knights and thier Baggie friends are up to, it won't be tolerated. (The Fraternal government sends out 10,000 men this side of the Rockies to act as impromptu garrisons and fight against the terror of the Bagheads.)

  Siege of "Castle Indigo"- There is one base we know of. "Castle Indigo", an old Spanish mission in the hills of California that the Knights have renovated into an adhoc military base, it stands as a monument to all that is wrong with the Fraternity. (Burn it down.)

Keeping the Show Going

Even while we wage some backwoods war against the forces of the Golden Circle, we still need to be on the offensive and shape peoples minds, spread the word, and all that. With influence and connections from Tacoma, San Fran, and now St. Louis secured, perhaps we can gain connections to Chicago and Louisville, or spread further within the states we do have and anchor ourselves in the territory we do have.

(Spreading pro-Texian influence is a bust! Three or bust!)

  "Beauregard Cars"- While trolley's/cable trams have been used before- most notably as part of San Francisco's growing urbanization, with cities like Houston, Beaumont, and San Diego now growing faster and faster, the need for a quick, efficient transport system is in order. (A series of trolley networks will be constructed over the course of the 1890's across much of the Southwest's major urban centers.)

  The Carnival State- With the newly elected "George Taylor Jester" as Free State Governor, comes promises of busting railroad corporations holds over what should be public Texian land. Jester argues that such conditions- as to allow certain corporations hold over vast tracts of the state- will be its downfall. (Various rail corporations based within Fraternal territory will be "busted", this may start a "war" between us and Union-Pacific.)

  Walkers at Worlds Fair- There's to be a 'Worlds Fair' in Montgomery Alabama sometime next year. Perhaps Texas could deploy the Walkers and show off our engineering know-how to the world? (While Walkers are slowly being integrated into many Westernized militaries, ours will be a show of force- to Europe- of the Americas- and to the Americas- a show of force of Texas.)

  Balloon Surveying- To better survey the rocky and ridge-topped landscapes of the Rocky Mountains, it may be best to take a different kind of view- an aerial view. Helping survey the land would allow fairer parcels to be sold off and given to new settlers. (It might also give us a different point of view regarding the proto-Pueblo landmarks.)

  Bringing Over Benz- News from the Kaiser's realm! Auto-wheelies, or whatever they're called- but a handful in New Braunfels feel like bringing over a factory to make a few of Carl Benz's fancy little loco-mobiles and potentially making a quick buck selling them to the rich in the Fraternity and the Golden Circle. (A factory in New Braunfels will make and soon be selling these "automobiles" (dumb name) to rich men across the Golden Circle, a quick fad for sure, but money and fools are easily separated.)

  Whaling Off A Lot- Whaling is a profitable venture is it not, the Japanese and Canadians make some quick and big bank, I say we should send our own whaling fleet out to make some quick bank. It'd compliment the current oil industry we have and in fact it'd help promote current petroleum industry! (Texas and Colorado will sponsor a whaling industry and sail out to the Southern Pacific.)
