I do like his stuff, a little to controlled from my tatse though, I like a free flowing organic movement better.

i have a book at home. called " impossible worlds" his stuff and also somebody else.. i can't remember who.. that has a good collection of stuff like this. very free flow where ever your imagination can take you. if it will survive the hurricane.. i will note you about it...

p.s. i did something like this back high school and sometimes in college, only I had pages and pages of labyrinths. very complex. i would do a them in a free-flow, but at the same time keep a structure, since it had to be a passage through for labyrinth to work...

That sounds cool, do you still have any of the pages?

Good luck, hope everything survives the huicane/s

This is definately kick ass. The balance is awesome, between the intricate and fine detail that covers the bottom and the thick, contrasting lines at the top. I like the overall feel, a real eye pleaser. Lovely composition

Do you use a brush for your ink to fill in bigger spaces or what? I'm always scared to ink anything large-scale.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

sis In reply to augustmelody [2004-01-28 20:17:31 +0000 UTC]

Sometimes I use a brush and sometimes I use my airbrush (but I only use that when it;s already in need of a cleaning, they can be a bugger to clean ) While I am inking I use one of those big stinky permenant markers to fill in the black spaces first. It's easier to do a pattern like this big, also helps in keeping the work smoother I have found.

Thank you
I can do checkers in my sleep, it's one of the fastest patterns I can do anymore, plus I don't pencil first I just get the ink out and go.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

sis In reply to surrealkiller [2004-01-28 21:45:34 +0000 UTC]

1. I am an artist by trade so it's basicly my job.
2. these don't take as long as they seem like they would, inking (and airbrshing) is one of my strongest and fastest areas, I can pound out a bunch of these in on sitting.
3. thank you

They are diffrent in person, you almost can't understand the size untill you see them. I have one that's not quite done and it's almost 5 feet tall and 4 feet wide
