Description Made in early 2004, though I never finnished it. I still like this picture too much. It also demonstrates my prefered painting style.. one I unfortunately dont manage to pull off too often.

I love the plating on these creatures.... I love scutes.

*The creature is a Torizo, for thoes who would not recognize, and is from the world of Super Metroid. They are made in the likeness of the relatively stationary chozo artifact statues, but these guys are fairly mobile in comparison. I see them as biomechanical guardians.

I'm in a total Metroid kick right now, so you = WIN.

You. Fav. FTW.

Excellent. Completely. My favorite part of this entire piece is the outstretched left hand. The one pointed to the viewer, I mean. The attention to detail on that hand alone warrents priase. SO YA

heh. torizo, chozo...whatever it is it's cool-looking.^^ Those bio-mech statues are what stand out most vividly in my mind when thinking about SM, even though I never played it. Anyways, cool pic! You got the poise down well. Very Metroid-esque.

you DO know torizo and chozo are the same thing right? simply a translation spellign thing liek Zebes and Zebeth was. japanese have no "R" so torizo would be pronounced differently. in the end i think the japanese pronounce torizo and chozo the same. the name torizo eventually seems to have become the naming for the 2 guardian biomechs you come across in SM...

Yehp, tis.

I wont believe you havent played Super Metroid. This and the first one are like The metroid games. Then what the heck have you played? I order you to go play it at a friends place or on an emulator. *shoves one at you* If I can help you find a way to play it, I will *er.. emulator wise*. Theres a torizo near the begining so you wouldnt have to play very long (:

Next I order you to create soemthing that has a torizo in it somewhere..
therefore you must play super metroid to study the habits of the torizo! Simple!
And I am the king of everything.

I thought I replied to this >_>
Anywho, I've played Metroid Prime, Echos, and Zero Mission.
And I've got an SNES emulator sooo >_>

But yeah, I've been facinated by the story line ever since Prime (since they had all those great Chozo Lores)
And I shall do so!

Fecking GASP you actually submitted something! O__O
Hm... Torizo. Don't see too much of him anywhere. I wish I could paint ;~;

sitar In reply to Adustus [2005-06-19 07:27:33 +0000 UTC]

.. thus making me the king of everything.

Torizo are creatures.. O_o
Then get painting.
Or drawing torizos.
I am the king of everything and demand torizos.
*hands out torizo sprites*
