Description A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...

Quinn Shara, a Force-sensitive teenager, struggles with the monotony of life on a backwater world, she craves a greater meaning in life as the rest of the Galaxy passes her by, she may well find that meaning however, as she crosses paths with Isabelle Devon, the leader of a fledgling rebel group. Will the ambitious young girl seize the opportunity to finally take charge of her destiny, and pursue her dream of becoming a Jedi?

Page sixteen of my Star Wars OC AU fan-comic-thingy!

Quinn finally arrives at market, and it seems word that offworlders are around has spread, despite being early in the morning the merchants are out in force, all their best wares on display! Navigating the crowds Quinn scans the stalls, taking in the wares as she makes her way to her chosen Junk Dealer, Sargo.

This took quite a while, it's probably the busiest backgrounds I've made yet, it was a little stressful, plus I ended up having that mini meltdown in the middle of drawing this so... Eheh, but it's done now at least! In the background we get a further look at life on Da'hren, old busted Battledroids litter Da'hren in the hundreds of thousands, and they serve many purposes, from being reprogrammed for labour, to being used as store mannequins.

I have to say, I have a pretty bad habit of making background characters, completely irrelevant to the story, that I really want to expand... >_<  I might make something unrelated expanding on the Balosar store owner, she clearly has a story of sorts. I also like the look of the charaer with Horns, tattoos, and dreads, possibly a bountyhunter?

By the way, the brown jacket that Quinn is checking out was created by Silent4everBeatless , for her OC Noctis, and thus belongs to her. ^_^

Anyway, that's that, as ever I hope ya'll enjoy, feedack is always appreciated!

The Graveyard of Giants on Jakku was quite the sight, but man would I love to see a graveyard of Clone Wars Era ships like you're depicting here… in live action I mean. This alone is so very awesome.

Quinn really is too darn cute as a teen.

I do love how you populate the place so effectively, you really give it a life and vibrance that I wa slacking so very well done indeed.

And yeah, one thing that's always so much fun with you is these little side characters that seemingly have so much personality just by how they appear in your panels. It's really quite charming and gives the works even more life and vibrance.

Heheheh, I try, I am really loving drawing this comic, especially because I can show this excitable, naive side of Quinn. ^w^

I'm very glad you like it, I really like the idea of building lore through the environments and backgrounds, like here it shows one of the many uses Da'hren's inhabitants have for deactivated Battle Droids. ^_^ And hey, my original ideas had barely any meat on their bones before you developed them into a coherent narrative, just as you developed my ideas, I'm now further developing those foundations, y'know?

Agh, thank you, you're far too kind, I just have way too much fun creating! XD For example I have a mini bio/story for the Balosar at the clothing stall: her family are a part of a drug cartel, but she didn't want that kind of life, so she ran away, looking to make an honest living, and has ended up on Da'hren as an assistant on a fashion stall, she's still got a lot of pent up aggression, hence the bruises, but she's starting to settle into things, years down the line, when the owner's age gets the better of them she'll take over as manager, by that time their fashion imports business will now be in an actual store, a successful business, and she'll stand as proof that not all Balosars are drug peddlers, further more she helps in the support and rehabilitation of young people with drug addictions, or coming from that kind of background, by offering them work. ;w; Eheheh, And just like that there's a story! ^_^

Page 17 is pretty much ready now too, just needs to be scanned, I'll try to do that later today, and page 18 is already over halfway done, though it might be slightly delayed because we've kinda' had a family crisis...

I think you succeed marvelously and Quinn really is quite excitable and cute as a kid.

It's something you are very good at, developing the worlds of your characters through background detail. It raelly shows and gives breath to the realm in which the characters make their living. It would seem then that we compliment one another nicely in this regard.

I actually really love that idea hehe. It's the kind of random ass story that gives a sense of feeling and live to everything going on in the world, nicely done.

Is it sad that whenever you say a page is almost ready for uploading I get excited?

Yeah, with all those Battledroids and Clone Trooper armor bits, the Balosar defiantly has some potential of the Expanded Universe treatment of characters, which is to give everyone with one second of screen time a backstory, personality, and relations to the galaxy around them. Star Trek EU is something like that, except everyone becomes a captain, even if they don't seem like they'd be suited for it, like Counselor Ezri Dax of DS9.

Also, that particular Balosar is really cute.

I think the Balosar's backstory is simple, she's from a family of drug dealers, which according to SW lore is common among Balosar society, dealing in Glitterstim and Death Sticks, but she doesn't want that life style, so instead leaves her home and gets an honest job as a store assistant in Da'hren's marketplace.

Heheh, glad you like her.

Must be the spots; I've always had a thing for aliens with spots. Why does she have those, anyway? They're not common among Balosar.

They're tattoos, kind of like gang tattoos, only family related, so they can identify their affiliation, though this particular girl wants out of that lifestyle.

oh hahaha! i thought the droid was being stylish, wearing the jacket. XD i see you do your comic traditionally owo. how long does it take you to do one page?

Heheheh! They are some pretty snazzy looking droids, and I'm sure somewhere in the huge Star Wars universe there are eccentrics who dress their droids up. XD
Yeah, I can't really work well with digital art, I have a tablet, and I try to work with it, but I have really bad co-ordination, I also can't get used to the lack of friction between the pen an the tablet, with pencil or markers on paper there's the drag, and I'm comfortable with that, but the tablet and stylus are way too smooth... On average, it probably takes me about 10-12 hours, from rough sketches to fully coloured, though there's usually a lot of procrastination in between XD, and I usually work on multiple things at the same time, this one took longer though because I was having a kinda' stressful week, but generally I can have them done in a day if I'm focused, the next page is already about half way done, I just need to do the proper line-work and colour it, here's a sneak peek! The First Farewell - 17 WIP

10-12, phew. well the procrastination explains it surely. X3 but i can't blame you. comics are very tim consuming i can never get myself to color it, so could just stick to storyboarding but if i'm in the mood for comics, i'll start a few (and usually never finish ;w

i feel you on the co-ordination part tho. my sister has a hard time with hand-to-eye co-ordination but she's also a particular person. I think she'll struggle with the pen touch as well, b/c she sensitive like that.

i told her she might do well with a Cintiq but she could do just as well with Adobe Illustrator.

are you thinking about publishing your work, somewhere, sometime? Owo
