Description

Back again after (once again) a protracted absence, this time with a full-sized self-propelled howitzer built on an enlarged variant of the base MA11 hull. The YrC11 is essentially a roomier Crusader without the sleek futuristic exterior - a fully automated ammunition/charge handling system + actively cooled gun barrel allow for sustained high rates of fire with minimal crewing, and a wide range of ammunition options allows it to reach out at range against a broad selection of targets. It provides the Crown Army with the backbone of its tube artillery capability - coupled with mobile MLRS systems, as well as self-propelled mortars and extended range BLOS ATGMs for closer-in fire support, the Anemonian artillery should hopefully find itself with a full range of systems and capabilities to cover the full range of fire support requirements.

A crudely drawn SPH was one of the first items of lineart I drew many years ago when I first got started with this time-sink, and I've been meaning to draw a new one ever since - comparing this new one with my previous attempt, I think I can safely say that there's been some slight improvement.

I've also mocked up an ERCA-alike with a longer L/58 barrel, but it looks (predictably) goofy, and will need a bit of tweaking - until then, feedback and comments are much appreciated (as always)! Next up, the missile SHORADS version of the MA11, which has been on the to-do list for an unacceptably long time...
