Background: Much like the YB-1AM, the KMP-55AM 'Sabertooth' AIFV is also one of the oldest military vehicles in the IRS's arsenal, dating its linage all the way back to 2043, when it was known simply as the KMP-45. The KMP-45 was an amphibious Infantry Fighting Vehicle developed by a jointly by the Russian Federation's Karasovya Military Industries (KMI) and the African Union's Military Development Conglomerate (MDC) in an effort to replace the aging Kurganets-25 in Russian arsenal and the obsolete BMP-3s in the African Union's inventory. In 2045, 2 years after development, the KMP-45 was fully integrated into the two nation's forces and in 2050 saw action in World War 3 against United Nations forces in Europe where the Russian military was steamrolling into while the African Union deployed its batch to engage Arab forces streaming in from Egypt, which subsequently after defeating the Middle Eastern forces, went on cross the Mediterranean and attack Western Europe. When Europe fell, the Combined Atlantic Armada consisting of both Russian and AU forces crossed the Atlantic and invaded the USA, where their KMP-45s no doubt saw action in securing the American shorelines and surrounding islands in the Caribbean. After WW3 was won, the KMP-45 was chosen to be the new AIFV of the Interstellar Republic of Singapore's military for its fearsome capability and instrumental role in the victory of WW3. It was upgraded to the KMP-55 and served well in the the service of the Oceanic forces and their Marine formations. In 2080 the KMP-55 was extensively upgraded to KMP-55AM and was newly equipped and redesigned to mount a laser cannon along with armor and digital equipment upgrades. After the Markenn War in 2085, the KMP-55AM further received new upgrades in all aspects of armor, weapon systems and its engine performance and in 2125 still serves in the Oceanic Command's Marine forces, but has recently seen more deployment in foreign theaters where demands for a more powerful and amphibious IFV have surfaced.

Tactics and Roles:
As an Amphibious Infantry Fighting Vehicle (AIFV), the Sabertooth functions as both a troop transport and a direct fire support combat tank that can cross deep water bodies and maneuver in the open seas. The Sabertooth is frequently deployed from parent ships to transport marine troops from the ship all the way to the shore in a seaborne invasion of land, where it would either deploy its troops to secure the beach, or press on until it reaches objectives further inland. On foreign worlds, the KMP-55AM is very useful for transporting troops across water bodies such as lakes and rivers to save time and resources on finding or deploying a bridge; this does give the IRS forces on ground a tactical advantage to overcome natural terrain obstacles. Other than transportation of men and supplies, the Sabertooth also has a combat role in providing both anti-infantry and anti-vehicle fire support with its laser cannon which can switch its firing mode to engage either types of targets properly. In a low-intensity and rapid-fire mode, the Sabertooth can take out large groups of enemy soldiers, light vehicles and even shoot through structures and cover to flush out enemy forces holed up in them as well as heavily damage enemy equipment and destroy enemy emplacements. In a high intensity single shot mode, the Sabertooth fires a single beam of charged up laser powerful enough to melt through enemy armor and fortified structures, suitable to take out tanks and other heavily armored targets. The KMP-55AM is deployed in amphibious landings, in massive armored formations and as escorts in small armored convoys in tight urban spaces.

Armament: The KMP-55AM is more heavily armed than the YB-1AM, with the VGAZ 30mm Laser Cannon which has a 2 setting firing mode that can switch between a low-intensity but rapid firing mode for anti-infantry work and a high intensity charged up single shot for anti-tank and anti-armor work. The rapid fire mode can easily eliminate entire infantry battalions whole as the numerous streams of hot laser burns its way through all of them and their body armor with ease and has also proven in some situations that it can shoot down low flying aircraft such as helicopters and VTOLs. The high intensity shot charges up the laser powerful enough to melt through tank armor with ease, penetrating through the hull into the crew compartment either burning all of them alive with both laser and spalled molten metal or cooking off any munitions inside to cause a devastating secondary explosion from within. Because of the nature of the Sabertooth's missions; often far away from supply ships for extended periods of time in the battlefield, the VGAZ Laser Cannon while expensive and consumes high amounts of power compared to kinetic projectile weapons can operate with electricity and solar power alone without need of physical bullets or rounds which can run out, allowing the Sabertooth to operate in the battlefield longer and in areas further away from resupply points. The KMP-55AM has a remote 12.7mm HMG to engage enemy infantry and a 7.62mm machine gun mounted at the front to do the same. Firing ports located around the passenger compartments allow troops inside to fire their small arms from the inside to engage surrounding enemy infantry, particularly useful if the Sabertooth finds itself in a heavily infested area full of hostile troops. The KMP-55AM often swaps its 12.7mm HMG for ATGMs to hunt tanks from afar.

Power Plant and Engine: Power is provided by an Ethervoltaic Generator which houses photo-voltaic bacteria known as Etherium to convert light or excess biomass into usable electricity. Ethervoltaics are cost-effective, safe to operate and relatively simple to repair and maintain by engineers with very little moving parts. Its Electric Drive engine converts electricity into kinetic motion and drives the tank's propulsion systems at relatively good speeds. Also easy to maintain for its simple operation and construction.

Armor and Defensive Subsytems:
Ferolattice crystals are natural alien crystals which converts and incorporates minerals and other elements in the environment it is planted in into its own lattice structure, forming a tough metal-like material. Ferolattice is extracted and melted down into a variety of materials formed by varying pressures, temperatures and industrial catalysts. One of them is Bryoceramic, a metallic lightweight ceramic commonly used as building material and its reinforced versions as bullet-proof armor worn by soldiers. When added with carbon and atomically tempered to reinforce intermolecular forces in Byroceramic, it forms an alloy known as Tryomite. Thickness of Tryomite is classified by classes, with Class C used by medium armor such as itself. Tryomite Class C is a tough but lightweight piece of armor plating that provides the KMP-55AM with protection from small-arms, heavy caliber weapons and can absorb a good amount of kinetic damage from hypervelocity shells, shaped explosives and even lasers and plasma. Layers of Aegis are electroplated onto the Tryomite armor to diffuse heat energy away from the AIFV's hull preventing lasers, plasma and hypermatter from melting through. Armor packages can be mounted on the Sabertooth in the field by engineers to further improve its survival and such includes simple blocks of additional Tryomite armor or advanced modules such as Kinetic Wave Barrier Generators and Active Energy Shield Generators. Canister launchers are mounted on the turret and can pop an Infrared-Radio Disruptor smoke cloud that not only makes the tank invisible from the naked eye, but also to sensor systems and targeting systems as the cloud disrupts radio and infrared signals.

Mobility and Terrain Handling: The KMP-55AM can drive on almost any land terrain thanks to its Individual Wheel Suspension System that allows it to drive over rough uneven terrain such as rocks and rubble without much difficulty and has ground pressure controllers which enables it to maneuver across mud, sand and loose soil without sinking or being trapped. It is also very fast for a tank and can travel across large distances quickly as well as changing its direction on the fly immediately, making it an agile vehicle capable of switching an attack direction to evade fire and strike an enemy at an unsuspecting vector. Its light weight allows the KMP-55AM to use the local infrastructure without breaking it, removing the need for setting up bridges which wastes time and slows down the momentum of the IRS's war machine. As an amphibious vehicle, it crosses water bodies easily with no problems and no additional modifications and is bouyant enough to float and move through the ocean seas while its hydrojets engines are powerful enough to prevent water current from throwing the AIFV off course or sinking.

Sensors and Communication Systems: The Sabertooth is fitted with a versatile HOLMES Mk2 Pulsar device which can perform motion tracking, GPS positioning, radar and scanning functions and is paired up with a Multi-Spectra Camera which can provide 360 degree visuals in multiple spectrums, from normal visible light to infrared, thermal and night vision. It is also connected to the Integrated Intelligence Network and continuously receives and broadcasts battlefield information in this secure military network, allowing them to coordinate military actions more effectively and keep track of everything from enemy and allied positions to terrain and landmarks. The Vehicle Commanding Officer in charge of the entire AIFV and its crew can see everything in the battlefield in a virtual projection on his holographic interface, allowing him to see things from a larger view and strategize accordingly. It also has a central computer that is capable of gathering combat data from both the IIN and the Sabertooth's own sensory equipment and use it to calculate everything from battlefield analysis to firing solutions which is then utilized to automatically engage targets accurately with the remote 12.7mm HMG turret, or if equipped, the ATGM launchers which can be guided towards its target.
