Description
The Rifle Section is the basic building block of the Regular Army’s forces and is the basic unit for tactical operations. It consists of 10 men. It is led by a Third Sergeant (3SG), who controls two fireteams, one Assault and one Support, of four men each together with the section 2IC who is the section’s most senior rifleman and most likely has the rank of Corporal First Class (CFC). The section 2IC also functions as the section marksman whenever they are not commanding on behalf of the section commander and is armed with the LARM-1 laser DMR. Each fireteam is led by a Corporal (CPL).

Fire and movement is the basis of all the section's maneuvers. The two fireteams provide mutual fire support to each other and will move in a leapfrogging fashion, when one moves the other provides covering fire to suppress the enemy and keep them from targeting upon the element that is moving. This applies when advancing and retreating. The Section Commander can call for more elaborate tactics and deploy the fireteam in various other ways to perform other kinds of maneuvers, such as flanking, fixing and encirclement.

The ultimate motto of the rifle section is that every man is a rifleman, and every rifleman is a grenadier. Barring riflemen tasked with the squad's heavier weapons such as the Neo-Ultimax LMG and the RPG-55AM, every member of the squad is deployed with a standard issue S36A1 automatic railgun with a 40mm underbarrel grenade launcher. Such a huge concentration of grenade launchers for a single squad allows them to attack fortified positions aggressively, or to defend such positions tenaciously by breaking up the tempo of incoming enemy squads.

Providing more firepower in addition to the 40mm grenade launchers are the section's two heavier weapons; the S200 Neo-Ultimax automatic railgun light machine gun and the RPG-55AM. The S200 has been re-equipped with a 60 round quad-stack box magazine instead of a drum magazine so that they can be stored in the standard-issue magazine pouches. Its main role of suppression remains the same and it is known for its 'constant recoil' feature kept over several generations, allowing for very accurate firing at the expense of a lower rate of fire. The S36A1's magazines can be used by the S200 allowing resupply in the event all its 60 round magazines run dry. The RPG-55AM is the section's main anti-tank weapon. It is a light, reloadable launcher that can fire a variety of rocket-propelled grenades for various situations. The RPG-55AM's rockets are often too weak to kill a tank in one shot outright so it is often used to hit wheels or hover drives and score mobility kills allowing the enemy tank to be dealt with later by dedicated anti-tank teams.
