Description The soldiers of the Republik Angkasa are descendents of a rich history stretching back all the way to 1965 when Singapore achieved proper independence. With it, comes a long line of uniforms and gear used throughout the years.

The Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) was founded in 1966, although Singaporean combat units had been formed much earlier and had seen service during Konfrontasi under Malayan command. In 1967, the first generation of Singaporean infantry took shape; soldiers were issued leftover surplus WW2-pattern webbings, plain 'Temasek Green' uniforms and licensed versions of the US M16, known as the M16S1s, which were modified to fit the smaller frame of asian soldiers. In 1983, the second generation of SAF soldiers emerged with woodland camouflage uniforms and the gradual adoption of the indigenously designed and produced SAR-21 bullpup assault rifle. Third generation SAF soldiers came about in 2012 when the pixelated forest camouflage uniforms were issued along with more modern equipment to integrate the section into the larger C4I network. After decades of peacetime, it would be the third generation soldiers to face war in 2019 when the Japanese army invaded the island city state in its grand ambitions of re-establishing the Co-Prosperity Sphere.

The geopolitical history of the African continent would become intertwined with Singaporean history due to the actions of a Singaporean commando squad led by Ayzen. The long 10 years of fighting for, and then against, the Jihadist Union of Islamist States (JUIS) culminated in JUIS's defeat and the rise of the Greater African Union (GAU) in 2030 as a federal superstate of all African nations in an effort to pool together the continent's resources to resolve poverty and restore stability. In 2035 however, GAU President Joryan was assassinated by Ahmedist extremists and the GAU collapsed into civil war between the loyalist remnants, Ahmedist jihadists and warlords vying for control. Ayzen and his squad returned to Africa to assist in re-establishing the GAU. The GAU Loyalists were very lightly equipped, cut off from much of its supply lines and forced to use whatever surplus gear and weapons it could find, namely 20th Century webbings and AK rifles. A combination of Ayzen's brutality and tactics allowed the Loyalists to win the civil war in 2037 and the GAU was restored, though now as an authoritarian state under the control of Ayzen, who was now its President. Stability was achieved and foreign investments came pouring in, resulting in an economic boom that allowed the GAU army to quickly modernize with desert camouflage uniforms patterned after the US's MARPAT, body armor with ceramic plate inserts and modernised AK rifles. These timely modernizations allowed the GAU to be a large formidable foe for the US's AFRICOM and its Middle Eastern allies during WW3, who were unable to face up to the GAU's large numbers despite their more advanced technology.

The end of WW3 left the GAU as the sole superpower of the devastated world (excluding China, who was brought into Ayzen's fold through mysterious circumstances...) and thus under the direction of President Ayzen, the GAU evolved into the Republik Dunia Singapura (REDUSIN) to unite humanity under principles of Singaporean egalitarianism and multicultural peace as espoused by the Ayzenist Thought. REDUSIN would shortly evolve again into the Republik Angkasa Singapura (RANGSI) after the discovery of FTL travel. With large stocks of PLA equipment, the first generation of RANGSI Riflemen were heavily equipped with Chinese gear and weapons, ranging from its uniform to even its venerable QBZ-95s. It was not until the 2070s which saw the introduction of adaptive camouflage uniforms, the S35 series of assault rifles, the SIBAS body armor system which comprised of Byroceramic hard plates mounted on nanokelvar vests and mass issue of HUD tech and miniature computers that cemented the look of RANGSI soldiers. In 2125, changes were made to improve the ergonomics of the SIBAS body armor system with magazine pouches mounted back on the nanokelvar vest rather than being attached to a separate belt system, rounded shoulder pauldrons and integrated knee guards. The wake of further technological improvements under the 3GA overhaul program introduced Ionoactive energy modules that can be attached onto the torso hardplates to provide rudimentary energy shielding as well as the issue of the S36 automatic railgun to increase an individual soldiers' firepower against armored infantry.
