Description Updated Rank Structure for the Republik Angkasa Singapura.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

ENLISTED

1) E-0 Recruit (REC)
The lowest lifeform of the armed forces. Typically given to new teenage conscripts to mark the start of their two-year military conscription journey with Basic Military Training (BMT).

2) E-1 Private (PTE)
The first rank one obtains after finishing their BMT and enters their vocational phase.

3) E-2 Private First Class (PFC)
PFC marks a conscript's seniority and good performance in their respective units, and is typically given after the first year of conscription assuming satisfactory conduct and fitness scores. They still do not have authority, but are trusted with heavier equipment such as crew-served weapons.

4) E-3 Corporal (CPL)
The Corporal rank is bestowed on enlisted soldiers who demonstrate some leadership qualities and have passed through a two-week fireteam leader course. Corporals take charge of a fireteam of 5 soldiers and also functions as the section 2IC.

5) E-4 Corporal First Class (CFC)
Corporal First Class gives more pay and prestige to Corporals of exemplary performance.

SERGEANT CADET

1) SE-0 Sergeant Cadet (SCT)
Sergeant cadets are drawn either from recruits from BMT selected for good leadership qualities or Corporal First Class soldiers who wish to rank up. They attend the Sergeant Cadet Course (SCC) within the Tactical Command Leadership Academy (TCLA). Recruits attend the full 6 month course as they need to go through section level training while CFCs who have already went through such training in their previous unit would only need to attend the second 3 month portion which is the Section Tactics and Command Training.

2) SE-0 Sergeant Cadet, Fireteam Leader
During the SCC, trainees are given appointments to train and test them on their ability to carry out various section leader roles in both in garrison and in the field. The Fireteam Leader appointment is equivalent in role and repsonsibilities as the E-3 Corporal (CPL), indicated by the white miniature Corporal rank on top of a Sergeant Cadet's white slash. These appointments are frequently rotated around to give all trainees a chance at executing these roles.

3) SE-0 Sergeant Cadet, Section Commander
Similar in purpose to SC Fireteam Leader as an appointment rank for training purposes. This appointment is equivalent in role and responsibility of an actual SE-1 3rd Sergeant (3SG), indicated by the white miniature 3rd Sergeant rank on top of a Sergeant Cadet's white slash. These appointments are frequently rotated around to give all trainees a chance at executing these roles.

OFFICER CADET

1) OF-0 Officer Cadet (OCT)
Officer cadets are selected among sergeant-cadets who show excellent qualities of leadership, bravery and tactical acumen during their SCC. These officer cadets are transferred to the Officer Cadet Course (OCC) within the same TCLA to pursue an additional three month course covering platoon to company level weapons training, fire and movement training and tactics and command training, bringing their total cadetship within TCLA to 9 months. The differing OCT ranks are a mark of seniority, with each white bar added on after every successful monthly milestone exercise in the course.

ADVANCED ACCELERATED OFFICER CADET COURSE

1) OF-0 Officer Cadet, Advanced Course
This Advanced course draws its cadets from recruits who have shown extraordinary leadership abilities, intelligence, bravery, courage, selflessness, patriotism and military skills throughout their BMT, upon recommendation of the training depot's higher brass. Their ranks are denoted by golden stripes instead of white. The Advanced OCC aims to provide stellar recruits a 'fast-track' to the officer ranks. In place of valuable experience, Advanced cadets go through a shorter but extremely gruelling 6 months of the same training courses their 'normal' peers attend. With near-abusive levels of discipline and regimentation, field trainings almost every single day and extremely strict standards to pass, those who make it to commissioning are often among the best junior officers TCLA can produce and most are typically posted to elite units.

OF-0 Officer Cadet, Advanced Course Appointments (Section Commander, Platoon 2IC, Platoon Commander, Company Sergeant-Major, Company OC)
Like appointments in the SCC, the Advanced OCC also employs appointment ranks to train and test the leadership capabilities and teamwork of its cadets in various roles ranging from section commander all the way to company commander. These are distinguished by the respective equivalent rank insignias placed above the Advanced officer cadet's golden stripes. These appointments are frequently rotated around to expose cadets to various roles and responsibilities.

SENIOR ENLISTED

1) SE-1 3rd Sergeant (3SG)/Specialist 1st Grade (SP1)
3rd Sergeants take charge of a section of 10 soldiers and is the first line of command authority for boots on the ground. This pay grade is the beginning of Specialist ranks, soldiers who decide to sign on in the military to pursue a specific technical field without command responsibilities in order to incentivise those who excel at doing rather than leading. These include but are not limited to vocations such as medics, technicians and mechanics. Promotion within the specialist ranks do not necessarily mean any increase in authority, this depends on appointment.

2) SE-2 2nd Sergeant (2SG)/Specialist 2nd Grade (SP2)
The 2nd Sergeant is often the platoon 2IC, helping the platoon commander to manage a platoon of 5 sections which is 50 soldiers.

3) SE-3 1st Sergeant (1SG)/Specialist 3rd Grade (SP3)
The 1st Sergeant is the platoon commander and commands a platoon of 5 sections which is 50 soldiers.

4) SE-4 Master Sergeant (MSG)/Specialist 4th Grade (SP4)
The Master Sergeant is the company 2IC and also the company sergeant-major. They are in charge of the company's discipline and security while also advising the company OC on various matters. As the most senior Sergeant in the company, they are the fiercest in whatever they do, whether it is fighting the enemy or beasting their own soldiers. MSGs often go on to be promoted to the officer ranks, obtaining the coveted title of 'Encik' in recognition of their long experience climbing the ranks from the bottom through sheer gruntwork. The Specialist 4th Grade at this level is also highly regarded as an experienced expert in their chosen field and are sometimes offered instructor positions at various training schools where their knowledge can best serve the armed forces.

JUNIOR OFFICER

1) OF-1 2nd Lieutenant (2LT)/Warrant Officer 1st Grade (WO1)
The first position within the officer ranks. 2LTs are the company OCs, in charge of 5 platoons which is 250 soldiers total. They are drawn from three 'channels'; 'normal' which is the standard recruit to sergeant-cadet to officer-cadet, 'accelerated' which refers to recruits who pass the gruelling Advanced OCC and 'Encik' who are drawn from Master Sergeants who have taken a longer route, starting from a 3rd sergeant or even a private and then climbing the ranks all the way. Each channel has its own strengths. 'Normal' 2LTs tend to be the main source of conscript officers as they are relatively balanced for their empathy with their subordinate sergeants given that they were also sergeant-cadets who just happened to be selected for additional tactical training. 'Accelerated' 2LTs are often psychologically resilient (to the point of insanity) and unconventionally dynamic as a result of their grueling training and they tend to be in elite units, conscript or regular depending if they choose to sign on. 'Encik' 2LTs are legendary for their tough demeanor, long and distinguished combat records and utmost ferocity, making them well-suited to lead active-duty expeditionary regular units. Occupying the same pay grade is the Warrant Officer 1st Grade, who are drawn from the Specialist ranks. Warrant Officers have limited authority compared to 2LTs, their authority is often only over their own assigned departments and field of expertise. 2LTs are technically commissioned by the Autarchs while Warrant Officers are commissioned by the Civil Administrator.

2) OF-2 Lieutenant (LTA)/Warrant Officer 2nd Grade (WO2)
Lieutenants, also commonly referred to as full Lieutenants, occupy higher command roles at the Battalion level, either taking on higher-level staff appointments such as S2 Head of Security or taking charge of groups of companies as the middlemen between Battalion HQ and company HQ. The most senior Lieutenant in the battalion typically becomes the Battalion Sergeant-Major and Battalion 2IC.

3) OF-3 Captain (CPT)/Warrant Officer 3rd Grade (WO3)
Captains take charge of a garrison brigade or an expeditionary battalion, both of which consists of 20 companies, which is 5000 troops. At this level, the battalion a Captain leads is often capable of executing independent operations in a given sector and the Captain is often looked to as the chief decision maker in combat.

FIELD OFFICER

1) OF-4 Major (MAJ)
Majors take charge of either a garrison Division, which is much smaller and consists of three garrison brigades with a total of 15,000 troops, or an expeditionary Combined Arms Regiment (CAR), which consist of 20 battalions and a total of 100,000 troops and all their equipment. CARs are capable of independent operations, usually on a regional to planetary scale depending on the nature of the operation, while garrison Divisions are mostly limited to defensive operations on their home planets.

2) OF-5 Lieutenant Colonel (LTC)
Depending on their assignment, Lieutenant Colonels either manage the deployments of multiple CARs or are in charge of a local Regional Corps, which is made up of several garrison Divisions, the exact number of which flucuates depending on population size, planetary conditions and objectives.

3) OF-6 Colonel (COL)
Colonels are in charge of a planet's entire garrison forces, which is known as the Planetary Army. Depending on various factors, the average number of Corps that make up a Planetary Army ranges from 10-15 Regional Corps.

4) OF-7 Colonel-Major (COLM)
Colonel-Major is a rank given either to reward a Colonel's exemplary service or to those who are fast-tracked to the role of Sector Commander, a role typically filled by a one-star General.

FLAG OFFICER

For the Regular Army, the differences between each level of General merely reflect war experience and seniority, as well as prestige and level of pay; Generals regardless of the number of stars will command a Sector's Garrison which consists of up to 10 Armies and 8 billion troops. Lower ranking Generals are usually placed in command of newly developing systems and are promoted accordingly as their own system grows in military manpower and strength.

For the Space Command, the levels of Admiralty DO reflect differences in authority and the size of ships they command in addition to prestige and pay. Rear Admirals lead small fleets of ships up to 20 each, Admirals lead larger fleets and Fleet Admirals take command of entire taskforces worth 100 ships. Taskforce Admirals command armadas for large-scale intergalactic operations operating in a specific region of space, commanding up to 1000 ships. High Admirals are conferred to those who are experienced and well-proven in the field of battle, authorised to command even larger fleets and are given access to more specialised elite and prototype units and weapons.

Highly distinguished Admirals and Generals may be selected by Central Command to be part of the Armed Forces Command (ARCOM), where they serve as Formation Chiefs and advise in the making of new doctrines.

CENTRAL COMMAND

1) CC-1 High Commander (HICOM)
The High Commander is in charge of ALL military units in a Zone of 20-50 systems, commanding the entirety of its ground, air, space and oceanic forces with up to around 240 billion ground troops and 9000-10,000 ships. The High Commander is selected from one of the most tactically-gifted commanders among an early-developing colony's militia forces and is given the monumental responsibility of raising the aforementioned militia forces into a proper intergalactic army.

2) CC-2 Marshall (MAR)
Marshalls are in charge of a Service Branch's doctrinal, logistical and battlefield deployments on an intergalactic scale.

3) CC-3 Chief Marshall (CMAR)
The most senior among the Marshalls take command of the Service in question. There are four services in the Angkatan Tentera Republik Angkasa (ANTRA) - the Regular Army, the Space Command, the Aerospace Corps and the Oceanic Defence Forces and each has a Chief Marshall in charge.

4) CC-4 High Marshall of War (HMAR)
The High Marshall commands the entirety of AFIR and Central Command, reporting directly to the Autarchs and is responsible for the national security of the whole Republik.
