I made this entry for =uchuubranko and :eindraa 's Mythology Contest here fav.me/d6mdubg
The task is creating a character design that depicts a certain constellation.
The constellation I picked to draw is Virgo; Virgo is the sixth astrological sign in the Zodiac horoscope.
The shape of the constellation is seen as a winged maiden, (well... doesn't it? ^^ upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia… ; ; )
I depicted the goddess of nature and agriculture bit, whom Virgo is originated from. Instead of featuring a lady with greens, I decided to draw a girl wearing flowers. And I imagined her to look like a angel from space with the stellar halo (well, literally).

This is a very well made design. The emphasis is placed on most of the correct areas and there were excessive details placed where it mattered.
The petals at the bottom were very beautiful (if not symbolic?) and the phases of the moon helped give an otherworldly feeling to this art.
The only critique I would offer is that her left hand and wrist did have a noticable lack of detail that made it stand out from the rest of the piece...
That being said, it did not ruin this art for me as I heavily enjoyed it as a whole... I know I struggle with that pose of the wrist myself which is why I noticed it right away.
In summary, very well designed and certainly better than anything I could have made. Congratulations on a job well done!
