"T-TEEEEHEHEHEHEEEEEACH! TH-THIS ISN'T WHAT I MEHEHEANT WHEN I AHAHAHASKED IF WE COULD H-HAHAHANG OUT SOMETIIIIIIME!! EEEEEHEHEHEEEEEEEP!""Eh, technicalities. You haven't yet asked me to stop, though... Are you trying to tell me something?"
"M-MAHAHAHAHAYBEEEE?!"Here it is, my half of an art trade with the wonderful PodFrog ! We agreed to work on a fun little pair of scenarios involving male Byleth and Claude, both from Fire Emblem: Three Houses (though we'd actually been planning on this before Byleth was announced for Smash, funnily enough
). For my half I decided to try out a tickly riff on all those memes showing Claude upside-down like in the game's package art. In case you haven't noticed yet, it's heavily inspired by a certain infamous scene from the old Popeye cartoon, "Bridge Ahoy!", as shown below:sta.sh/010kaelkf0fj
I figured it'd be nice to have a cute guy in such a setup, though knowing Claude and how he interacts with Byleth in the Golden Deer route of the game itself, he'd definitely be far more tolerant of this than most would suspect, and obviously the two of them are on much better terms than Bluto and poor Olive Oyl. Who knows, maybe Claude could even ask Byleth if they could try this again in the future?
Don't worry, the pond below Claude is just a very short drop away, so if he slips off by accident he should be fine. 
(I imagine btw that this takes place when Byleth has become closer to Claude later in the pre-timeskip part of the story, when he has presumably figured out how to express himself more freely. Hopefully his being a tad playful here ain't too OOC!

Love this game, love these characters, love the situation. You did an amazing job drawing them, Claude looks adorable and Byleth is clearly enjoying himself maybe just a little too much.

Thanks! While tickle-fish out in the wild probably aren't a likely possibility given the nature of the setting, the idea of Claude undergoing a fish pedicure amuses me enough that I may consider that in a future artwork. The most danger he's in as of now, though, is probably getting his clothes wet. It's gonna take all damn day to dry them out!

I actually wouldn't mind commissioning a piece from you involving Claude getting a fish pedicure. Just imagine the scenario: Claude finds himself a secluded spot by the river and decides to indulge in a quiet soak. He comfortably situated himself near the river's edge and toed off his boots; bare feet dusty with travel, and plunged his weary soles in the cool water with a blissful sigh. It wasn't long before Claude drifted off to sleep. A few colorful fish soon took notice of the handsome young man's feet as they swayed languidly in the water. They eagerly swim around Claude's sleeping insteps; flicking their tails against the deceptively soft ankles, eliciting a few boyish giggles to escape from his lips. The tickling grew more insistent and Claude later awoke to the mischievous little fish playfully nipping at his heels and toes.

That would be an excellent illustration or even story commission! And then of course he'd get super confused over what follows and end up equally loving it and begging for it to stop as it escalates. And in the end he decides to keep that particular river shore in mind for the future~

Sure thing, though a) I'll need to actually watch a LP of Three Houses to get a feel for Claude's character, and b) I'm busy with a bunch of other commissions right now and have little time for anything else as it is. I'll definitely let you know once I'm more available for co-writes and other things, though! ^^
