Hi everybody!Here, with more holiday uploads!!!
You knew this young skeksis from one former drawing Imade of him recently: this is again SkekLek the Wild One: a skeksis who grew far away from the castle among the wikderness and became a part of it.
So far, you had seen him only wearing his ornaments and protective pieces: shielded beneath his thick fur hood and half-skull mask crafted from the torn upper craneal piece and jaw from a large predator.
Here, young SkekLek seems truly curious at the viewer...He dares removing his mask from off his face, and so we can appreciate his features: he is not actualy the feas inducingmonster his bone, claw and fur adornments had led us to think he was!
A very young, rather lean and surely curious skeksis stares back t us as if in amazement.

This one's for you, , creator of this beautiful character, and many other wonderful crossover stories featuring the caracters of The Dark Crystal!
I hope you get to see SkekLek's parents' features mixed in this young, bold face!

Well! I haven't seen this SkekSis before, but he's fascinating. I really like how even though he isn't a Castle Lord, he seems to have a touch of that pervasive vanity/insecurity about him, the way he chooses to dress in fine white fur...

He is the same one featured as "SkekLek the Wild One" in a fmer drawing..only he looked way much fierce there, still overly draped and covered with his ful mask, hood and ornaments.
Oh yes indeed, this young fellow may not be a high Lord , but his atavic want for adornment led him to claim possession over his animal rival pelts, and s he ended up creating this strange garb for himself...to suit his vanity and also to conceal his true aspect, since he'd want to look more big and powerful in a vestige of what typical skeksis demeanor is! ^^

This young fellow was originally sent away from the castle for good-and major- reasons...he would have lost his life unless he was swiftly retired into the wild...for he was actualy not product of the original splitting, but from a forbidden love affair between two skeksis lords.
Being dually gendered, these secret lovers brought this young one to life.
The one who gave birth to him lost his life during the birth, and terrified after knowing what the Emperor would do to both him and the newborn if he ever found out, the parent ran with the child and left it under the care of an intelligent race of speaking creatures which look like dogs.
So...we have a skeksis who possibly doesn't behave like the Castle Lords at all..though Scrawsith may find him sypathetic enough, and if SkekLek doesn't try to attack him out of panic, or flees at his sight he may realize how simmilar they both are, and even bind to him as fellows once he realizes WHAT he truly is- a thing SkekLek could easily tell him-!...^^

Scrawsith would definitely wish to meet someone who has also been
unceremoniously exiled from his castle home. I think he would feel pain,
pity, but also happiness that there is someone in the world who shares his
outcast status.
Also, that's a fascinating backstory!

I bet he would be somehow glad to not be the only one!
The main difference between them would be that Scrawsith at least knows what he is and where he came from...though I don'tknow for certain whether SkekLek has any clue to who he really is...
In the end, funnily enough, the story would end with three outcasts sharing the site: Scrawsith, SkekLek, and the Chamberlain imself, who (if I remember right) you had mentioned to had been the executor of Scrawsith's banishment himself!...
I wonder what would those two tell to each other in suh situation, if they would have crossed paths again...

YAYYYY, OHH I' SO GLAD YOU LIKE HIM!!!
I wanted to give him the looks of both parents a little and combined soe features from each...big, wide eyes, long snout crooked at it's "bridge", greenish grey skin and overall thinness...
Hihihi oh yes, that was absolutely intentional and I'm glad to see it's spot on!
I wanted to show how young Lek would attempt at any first approach much lke a wild dog would: snarling and bristling, trying to appear as an impressive and powerful rival for whoever dared crossing his path...but here, once he sees there is no aggression intended, and unused to any contact with other than his pack, he would feel curious and be even timid before a friendly newcomer,and thus he would lower the hood and unmask as to allow the other to see his face, once he fet assured there were no bad intentions meant.
In the end, I see Lek much like any feral child: looking aggressive and intimidating until supposely danger has passed..then, being actually a gentle, rather shy creature. This, in a skeksis, in much to say! And Lek, even seeming so wild, might be in fact one of the most mild skeksis to ever exist.
Thank YOU for giving me the honor of assisting his creation and portraiting him!..I am happy you shared him with me...he is a wonderful character!

Oh gosh, I love this outfit it reminds me of a baby wood owl with the white fuzz feathers, and that talon sticking out makes shows a dark contrast to the so called "innocence" in this picture, I fucking love it!

Hihihi certainly, the animal pelts Lek wears may look much lke a baby wood owl in close inspection...
This skeksis surely has a very dual nature: he looks like something that would devour you alive while masked and fully attired in his wild garb...then such as we see here, he may tur out rather mild and even innocent (far more innocent than those at the Castle really) once one has proved him no harm is intended.
Hehehe, his dark talons indeed do remind us, however, about his skesis nature, and the possibility of him becoming really nasty if anything shall not go as intended...
AHHH SKEKSIS...So polite when they want, so murderous when thy don't..

It's like he doesn't know what to make of the watcher who is staring him back.
The fur and pelts were fun to draw!...and yes, I wanted precisely to give him that air of curiousity-ignited trust, which would allow him to unmask before us.

He is indeed like a version of a skeksis Tarzan or even Mowgli, although his story is pretty different...his roots in that he is a spawn of a civilized race who gets by casualty raised in the wild by animals, are the very same!
Ahhhhh his parents...
Hmm...Since I don't want to spoil the plot and I believe she would be happy to tel you, may I suggest you to ask about him? She's her creator and a really cool crossover writer!

This guy looks kind of sweet with out the animal skull mask but it makes sense as despite the scary looks he's not tainted or evil, just surprised that he doesn't have colourful skin, but then again he might only prefer dark spaces like Gollum from LOTR.

Indeed he loos way more innocent and almost sweet without his threatenning mask and his trademark intimidating snarl to the unknown things.
Once his trust has been earned, he may be as curious and sweet as depicted here.
He might stare back at you in fascination more likely than bite or attack you in any sense uness you gave him any reason!
On regards of his skin tone, I believe him to be green by heritage! His genes come from a greenish skeksis and a silvery-greenish skinned one...so the mix produced a sort of rish avocado tone on him. He features no faial marks tha wecan see, or arm patterns at that...but perhaps his body has some markig which his curent romes are covering. However, both his mane and his feathers are of a deep black tone, and his dorsal set of feathers and fur has an itense blue iridiscence which would be worthy to see!

He looked so intimidating in the former picture, possibly because he was afraid of "the viewer"...thus the snarl and the full masking and pelting on, as to help him look ferocious and imponent...
But as you see here, once he calms down and unmasks, he reveals to be a truly very young, cute and possibly mild skeksis!
