Description
So I disposed (squished) of my Paperpokè collection, as I needed the space for books on my shelves, and the models were becoming a health hazard (dust and more dust).Only half of them would fit on the table; and it looked so funny, that I took a photo. Now my noes itches and I can't stop sneezing, but at least my office looks much cleaner and neater!
I did keep a handful of them, the ones that have the most sentiment to me, like Lapras, Snorlax and all the Gengars, but the rest are balls of paper in a big black bin liner waiting for the garbage truck to pick them up next recycling day.
Don't cry - they had a good life

I plan to make a cyndaquil, can you tell me what type of glue you used? I tried using stick glue but it doesn't work very well.Β

The glue I used was discontinued, and that pretty much was the end of my papercrafting days as struggling with other glues that didn't work half as well was less than enjoyable. Also, I live in Australia, and variety is limited. I hear thatΒ Elmer's Craft Bond Paper Craft Glue Gel Β is very good, but I don't personally know as that product is not available here. The key to any good glue is instant tackiness and hold. If you can find a glue that sticks quickly but allows you enough time to adjust your alignment before setting, you've hit gold.Β

That's so sad. I've just watched from ep 1 to 5 eps before sinnoh ends! Yup. It's gonna be the end of an era because I saw all of the gen 5 anime and set out to watch all the eps prior and in order. So close to 802 eps I've seen! Now for X and Y

Well done. It can be really hard getting rid of models you've poured hours into, but, like everything, eventually they have to go

Wow - this has opened my world to a whole new paper-folding art! I'm really impressed! (I'm also impressed you squished them as was necessary - I'm sure I would have found some way to... hang them from the ceiling or some other horrible alternative, haha)

Thank you. I think that at some point you can only keep so many paper crafts before you have to bite the bullet and give them up, otherwise it gets out of control!Β

That's probably because you used regular printer paper. Ideally, you should use at least 150gsm paper for papercraft - it has a better structural integrity. But A+ for effort.

Hahaha! Ok, so paper is measured in weight, but this is not actually true, it's more like thickness/density, but for all intensive purposes, lets call it weight. Standard printer/photocopy paper is 80gsm (grams per square meter) and for printing or copying, it's perfect.
However, for constructing something 3-dimensional, it is too thin and flimsy. So What you need to do is find some thicker paper, of about 150gsm. This is kind of an in between thickness/weight - not regular paper or cardboard. You'll find it will go through a household printer relatively easily, and it will give you the structural strength required to make a papercraft construction not go all floppy.
I hope that makes sense and helps you. Depending on where you live, you should be able to find a reem at your local stationery retailer (Staples in the US, or Officeworks in Australia)
