Ummm ... are there instructions for assembling this?

I printed out the cut-outs, but, which way do you fold this and that?

Thanks

Hi, there are no real instructions, other than the actual .PDO, but if you are having issues with the template, I am at your service!

The pieces are placed on the .PDF in construction order, more or less - this should make the build easy.

As for fold lines, we always use the standard:
- - - - - - - Mountain fold
_ _ __ _ __ _ Valley fold
_____________ Cut

Can't seem to open .pdo's with LINUX.
The standard folding system helps, the trick now is which part attaches to what...

Thank you for the quick response.

Gotta say, I'm amazed at how the pieces, and folds are plotted out. I couldn't figure out how to plot that myself.

Hmmm, I don't actually know if LINUX supports Pepakura - I'll find out for you ... but I suspect that it doesn't because POdragon also prefers LINUX, but she runs Windows on another partition, probably for that very reason.

And you are right, the way that that little program is able to plot out the 3D points and map it out onto a 2D area, is pretty amazing!

If you have any troubles assembling Sandshrew, message me and I'll send you some print-screen images of the Pepakura model for reference.

It doesn't even look like paper! I guess that's kind of a compliment

Great job, as usual

Did you see my Gimp tutorial for merging images btw? I could also do a step by step tutorial with you online sometime if you'd like

Skele-kitty In reply to Drummyralf [2009-01-06 02:28:17 +0000 UTC]

That is probably the highest form of compliment you can give a papercrafter!

So thank you, from the bottom of my

I did see it and tried to follow it ... ... I am such a total noob!

But you know what, I'm using ACDsee and it's so easy to just insert the additional images as non-transparent watermarks, lol

The only thing it doesn't do is those neat frames. *sigh* can't have it all ... without a online tute with Ralf!

Thank you! you should totally do this one, it's EASY! The only fiddly bit is the tiny nails, but you got tiny covered (re: Going Merry)

YAY! More deviation!
Go, go, go!

ok, i'll try it, after i fix ganon (general shape is together, but head is flat)and the stallhound. the stallhound is extremely hard so far. between the missing fold likes, missing tabs, and very odd layout, it's almost as hard as the going merry. i haven't even gotten to the face yet (which has about 40 peices T_T

Ooh, turned out really well... And looks great against the blue. I need some bigger sized colored card, save me some time 'shopping those lines.

Awesome as usual!!

Aww, shucks!

I have a whole stack of coloured card, but they aren't particularly good background. I mean, what was I thinking when I was buying ORANGE?!

I really need to find a smokey grey coloured one, like what they use in photo studios.

I can't find that #2 gray, been looking... and looking... might have to ask a camera store.

Orange doesn't work... neon pink neither

Green and blue and yellow work well... and pastels...

Yeah, I have burgundy, purple, apple green, yellow, pink, blue, and orange. Half of them are now going to be for the kids to cut up!

Supah cool!
Btw, you have coloured background, now! I'm jealous!

Skele-kitty In reply to Lyrin-83 [2009-01-02 22:44:50 +0000 UTC]

Thanks
No, lol!
It's just some blue cardstock. It looked really washed out with my normal white backdrop, so I had to use the coloured background.

I have to find colored cardstock too, since it looks cool, and much faster than editing bgs all the times!

That's amazing that you can do that ... can you write up a "for dummies" instruction for me, so that I can do that too, please?

Oh, well, I'll try, but dunno how it will came out, since my Photoshop's in italian and I dont know the equivalent word in english! I'll take screenshots, though!
