See, now I have that PokΓ©mon center song in my head! [link]
Thank you!
It took me ages to set it up because I didn't have card stock big enough to fit them all in, so the background is (very badly) Photoshopped a little.
I really need several lessons in Photoshop - I think I might do a short course for it, because the For Dummies PDF is ... long.

Christinabean In reply to Skele-kitty [2009-02-10 19:52:45 +0000 UTC]
Oh, i can't tell it's photoshopped at all! (then again, i'm a sucky judge for all things involving technology, but still, it looks a-okay. ) I can't wait to build some of these great crafts!
jeeze, that song reminds me of how excited i was to take articuno out of one of my storage boxes when i finally managed to catch him. (pure luck- not denying it at all ) sorry, that was terribly random!

Skele-kitty In reply to Christinabean [2009-02-10 21:58:57 +0000 UTC]
LOL! Random is great!
BTW, I've had that song in my head for 3 days now!
And I used the 999 Masterbal cheat

Hah! I'll get the mabe village tune (from link's awakening) stuck in my head for forever! [link]
Ah man, i'm jealous! I tried to use the masterball cheat, but i have yellow, and they took the cheat out for that one...mega bummer, huh? catching the legendaries was a pain in the butt...
Well, in an effort to get back on topic, i must say i'm really appreciative of all the work you and the rest of paperpokes puts into all these wonderful crafts. i love seeing all these finished pics of great models, and having the comfort of knowing there is (or there will be) a download link. truly inspiring!

Skele-kitty In reply to Christinabean [2009-02-11 02:24:15 +0000 UTC]
Oh yeah, I loved that little tune! lol!
That Masterball cheat is like American Express - never leave Pallet Town without it!
Thank you for your kind words. I have to agree with you, in regards to the seeing models without d/l links - it pisses me off!
There are a few designers that do that regularly. It's like they are saying, look at what I have, nya-na nya-na nya-naaa!"
It's not cool. But the reason as to why you sometimes see poke previews on DA and no d/l links on PaperpokΓ©s for a while is that we want to stick to the Monday (no-more-than-3-models) schedule.
But thank you for your patience.

Aah, this is adorable. I've never even thought of a concept like this before. I'm trying to figure out how it's done, but I'm stumped. ...xDD That means I really like it, by the way.

You've never done papercraft before? It's addictive fun, and a lot like Pringles - once you start, you can't stop!
The key to successful papercrafting are patience and good tools:
- really, really good glue,
- an inkless fine ball-point pen,
- good and sharp precision scissors, or
- a sharp craft knife, and
- a metal ruler.
After that, it's all up to you. Good luck, and please don't hesitate to ask any questions.

never actually used the ruler, scissors, or pen. what's the pen for? I just use a exacto blade, and a cutting mat...
awesome pic, btw
*whispers* (forgot cardstock in list)

Skele-kitty In reply to ganon-destroyer [2009-02-10 02:51:06 +0000 UTC]
Well, it would be for embossing the crease lines.
I actually have a stylus for that, but most people wouldn't know where to find one of them, so an empty ball-point works almost just as well.
I also have a craft knife and self-healing cutting mat, but I only use that for long straight cuts - everything else I cut with my very sharp precision scissors.
Ah, yes, cardstock is very important. I generally use 120gsm, sometimes 190gsm.
And thank you!

i just press very lightly with an exacto knife, and it works fine. i used to use scizzors, but now just an exacto knife. works fine for me...

Skele-kitty In reply to ganon-destroyer [2009-02-25 12:32:03 +0000 UTC]
Wow, if I tried to score with my blade, I'd slice through the paper! My blades are super sharp, and even the lightest pressure cuts through my 120gsm paper.
But, you know what they say: what ever rocks your boat!

O.O thats one sharp blade. i have a old exacto blade, and you have to actualy press kind of hard for it to cut...

Skele-kitty In reply to ganon-destroyer [2009-02-25 23:32:59 +0000 UTC]
New blades don't cost that much, just a couple of bucks.
I highly recommend sharp utensils - you'll end up with a more precise edge and a better overall finish.
