Description
If this little guy doesn't make you just go DAAAAAAAAAAAAW! Then you must be a robot, because, LOOK AT IT!! This is the epitome of cute, no wonder Misty carried this poke around all the time. However, due to the fiddly nature of the cracked shell part, this model falls into the difficult category, and using the PDO is more or less essential. All credit goes to Brandon.
There is already a (much easier and less detailed version of) Togepi out there, courtesy of Icthus7 [link] , but this one is bigger - the perfect size for cosplay!
Watch for the PaperpokΓ©s [link] Togepi next month, just in time for Easter.

It's all about the practice and, surprisingly, how good your paper and glue is!

urm ... you should have finished the head first, and then built the egg around it then closed the body via the feet. I doubt you can build it the other way, sorry.

I only did the egg first because the head looked really difficult. Pretend I didn't make the egg first. What would I do to start Togapis head? its a simple question

I am guessing that togepi is one of the earlier templates that didn't get numbered in order of build (it's been so long since I did that one). However, when I do a template, I always placed the pieces in roughly the order of build, so when you print them out the first page should be what you start with, and the last page to print sould be (but not always) the closing point.
I think, if memory serves, that you start with his spikey bits, then attach them to the top of his head, then go back to his upper body, then the cracked egg bit, and work your way down to finish off at his feet.

Yeah, the broken eggshell part is tricky, you should use the PDO. If memory serves, I believe it does stand by itself, but just in case, stand it upright just before you close its foot - that way you can insert something if it is necessary.

aw sweet, thats one to do when i get printer ink haha.
do you know any ways of sealing them so their not as fragile just being paper?
π: 0 β©: 1
Skele-kitty In reply to craiganater [2009-03-25 07:13:07 +0000 UTC]
Sealing? Um ... not really. But the model is only as fragile as the weight of paper that you use.
This model (and 99% of the rest of my models) is made of 120gsm paper - it's tough enough to withstand a fall from 7' (my book shelf, lol)!
