Yup. After three months, I'm FINALLY uploading something. ... It's another character ref. How fun. I really need to start drawing more. Or, rather, coloring the crap I do draw so I can upload it. Feel free to yell at me over that. XD;And I was totally too lazy to even do this thing right. I chose not to shade his snakeness formthing because I was LAZY.. I've been working on this all week and I was ready to be done with it. Same with his hair, I'm not too fond with how it turned out, but, eh. White is a pain and it looked worse before. So deal.
ANYWAY, YES. This character IS the Mayan God. He is the god of the four elements (Fire, Air, Water, Earth), resurrection and reincarnation, and he was also one of their main, Creator Gods. He also was said to bring culture, agriculture, the calendar, and art to the Mayans. Yes, he played an important role in Mayan Mythology, if that list didn't make it obvious. The Aztecs called him Quetzalcoatl, by the way.
I've always been fascinated by Mesoamerican culture, and the Mayans have always been my favorite, as well as Kukulkan. And when I managed to get the name on Furc, I had to make the guy.
He's portrayed as the actual god himself in present times, having taken up residence in his temple, Chichen Itza in Mexico. He's quite aware that his people are long gone, and have been so for over a thousand years or so. Not knowing what to do with himself, he took it upon himself to continue protecting the lands and ruins that have once been Maya. Though he's still, generally, the same, benevolent god he had always bee, yet, after so many years in isolation (the retarded tourists he listened in on don't count) caused him to become a bit eccentric and.. Well, crazy. And... Uhm. Yeah. Crazy snake is crazy. I lost my train of thought. >.>

Wow, that is awesome. I've visited the ruins of Tulum, but never Chichen Itza. I really should one day...
Anyway, great design, and I love the coloring. Nice to see more of your work ^^

Yeah, I've been to Mexico twice in my life.. And I still have never had the chance to go either. It's one of the places I'd love to visit eventually. Especially at one of the equinoes. x3
But, thank you.~ I know I need to start coloring more. I just get too lazy sometimes. XD;
