Yeah, MDF is very easy to work with and cut out/shape to what you want

yay! do you know about Black Star from Soul Eater, if so, I'm making his Enchanted sword in its last level ^^ And, I can remake Cloud's buster sword ^^ You have a cool buster sword by the way ^^

I just googled it as i'm not familiar with the series, but i must say that it does look rather cool!

I cut the whole thing from a sheet of 12mm MDF, cut out the hole for the ejector rod and used drill to make holes in the corners of the trigger area and then used a Coping saw to cut it out.
The Raised detail is made from a a thinner piece of MDF with dowel rods cut i half for the detail and the handle grip is then built up with a 5mm layer of Balsa wood.
While the Barrel Cylinder is actually made from a small Pringles pot cut in half etc.
