She was crying. He could hear that much.Verdigris didn't quite know how to feel. He certainly hadn't expected her to faint like she did. He'd expected his family to get angry, her to be shocked, but not all of this
They'd listened to Verdi when he'd tried to reclaim control of the house, sending off two or three little ones with big ones who ha their own home and sending Kia to take her to the hospital. But that was when everyone was in shock. Who knew what his family would think when they snapped out of it.
Were they really his family anymore? Would Traumer even want to call him her son? Did he want her to?
Deep down, he couldn't deny it. He did. That was his mom. He didn't want another parent to let him go yet again, like what had happened when he still lived at the nook. Even if she probably should have, he hadn't been the child she was clearly expecting, the time to do that passed ages ago.
But with what he'd said, that might not matter. Either way was fine with him.
