As an aunt I can confirm that toddlers fear and loathe the idea of having their protective coating of facial muck removed. They will happily wrestle, or be turned upside down and swung onto the couch like a sack of potatoes, and in fact will beg for all manner of manhandling all while crawling on you like a jungle gym, but should you gently brush their faces with a damp cloth or dare take them to an individual who wishes to look into either their ears or their mouths, it's time to start screaming blue murder.

I'm the oldest of 5 and have been babysitting for 10 or so years now, and I swear any water with the intent of cleansing something and does not include a fun toy is made of acid the second it touches a small child's face. It's sure to melt them and you are a demon for even carrying it in their presence lmao
