They are characterized by mostly feline behaviors when in human forms; vanity and grooming are common traits, as well agility and flexibility. Their human form age as a human would up until the prime of age has been reached, usually haulting in their late twenties or early thirties. However, they also have the ability to transform into their Deity's favored animal, a cat. They still retain their sentience in this form, but lack most of their abilities, including communication; the skill to turn into a cat is most commonly seen in aged Servants as they have more experience and a stronger connection with their innerself. In their true form, a humanoid-feline, they are usually of smaller stature, but this does not make them weaker in any way shape or form. While smaller, they excell in speed and strategy, capable of fighting and protecting themselves.

- Mortality: While his species is immune to the effects of aging and are capable of recovering after 'fatal' injuries, they can be killed through certain SPECIFIC wounds. This includes, but is not limited to: destruction of the heart, silver weapons, extreme disfiguration or dismemberment, and crushing him flat.
- Cynophobia: Fear of dogs- it's not comprimsing, as he can still move after seeing a canine, but he'd much rather separate himself from any sort of canine as quickly as possible.
- Thanatophobia: Due to his own reasons, he has a paralyzing fear of death. Don't ask him about it or your on his list. What's the list? Well you might never be able to ask him because you probably won't see him by chance again- depends on how much to badgered about it.
- Lack of Strength: His species is not known for their physical strength, so most heavy weights are incapable of being moved. However, their lack of strength is made up for with their speed and agility.
- Sensitivity: His tail is one of the most sensitive parts of his body, only above his ears and feet. If pulled on, stepped on, or grabbed, he will freeze in his place out of caution. Essentially, any pain or pressure on any of these body parts will have similar effects. It's usually a pretty good way to strike a deal with him or to get him to pay attention whilst in his monster form.
- Easily baited: His decisions can be easily persuaded through his emotions. If you can get him riled up, irritated, or generally upset, his actions will be more reckless and dangerous.

- Organic weapons: Naturally, he has both fangs and teeth to fend off attackers with. His fangs are sharp and pointed, perfect to tear flesh with; his claws are just as sharp, solid black and toughened to resist shattering. More often than not, these are more than enough to keep a Servant of Bastet safe, but only if behind a trained and steady mind. Bastien hasn't exactly learned how to fight with these weapons yet, so if he turns out to be lethal, it's completely unintentional.

[Passive Skills]
- Flexibility: Just like the insane capabilities of felines, Bastien can squeeze his way in and through almost any opening. His joints are very flexible and can bend in ways that may seem impossible.
- Agility/Acrobatics: Due to his upbringing and natural affinity, he has gymnastic and acrobatic abilities. He's able to manipulate his muscles to climb most surfaces with only his own maneuverability. This also applies in the aspect of dodging attacks, however, his reflexes are imperfect in his self denial.
- Mild Regeneration and Healing: Illusioned to be a "Nine lives" deal, the Servants of Bastet are able to regenerate certain amounts of damage. The amount of damage able to be reversed depend upon the Servant's age and the time since the last amount of healing. For Bastien, this can range from mending a bone to fading bruises. Organ regeneration is INCREDIBLY unlikely for him, and the more he has to heal himself the weaker he becomes afterwards and the less damage he can heal in the future.

- Transformation: Naturally, he can turn between his human form and monster form, but because he's not settled with it, he has little control over it without his Dorm Sigil. Whenever he feels threatened, the change starts and there's little he can do to stop it. The sigil given by the Headmaster is the one thing he grateful to the demon for. It's also why he seeked the University out so quickly.

Bastien is more comfortable by himself than in a group of people. He can and will work with others if required, but in his free time, he chooses when he'd like to be around others. He's gotten to be more of a loner over the years and has only been reinforced more by his sassy attitude, which often pushed others away before he could make close friends. This is in part due to his easily influenced emotions- the wall he puts up keeps him from being manipulated. However, if one can get through his aggressive shield, he becomes very affectionate. He'll deny it fully, but he'll do favors for the person in question and hang around the person freely while openly enjoying the company instead of continuing his utterly detestable act. This affection is rare though... his irrtated and hostile exterior are often a very thick barrier. This irritable attitude, for the time being at least, can be attributed to his refusal to accept his heritage. He demands that he's still his human self, despite being a 'monster', yet he still knows he's different because of the revalation.

And since he had no idea, he figured his parents were just crazy cat people- their house never seemed to not have cats littering the premises. At a young age, his parents let him join a gymnastic class- which he excelled in immediately. He had incredible balance and flexibility even as a child and was the pride of his gymnast coach. While he had fun in the class, it wasn't long before he got bored and asked his parents to leave.

As he continued growing up, he found himself more distant from others. It wasn't so much that he hated their company; it was just more comfortable to be on his own. He had a few friends here and there, but nothing that stuck through schools. Elementary was fun. He made a few friends and enjoyed hanging out on the top of the tall slide on the playground. Junior High was stressful with obnoxious preteens and bullies. Eventually he picked up breakdancing and used his agility to help practice it. The dancing helped to draw the bullies off his trail. Highschool was boring and tedious- classes seemed easy and he kept himself in the background, out of the light of 'school news' and popularity for a reason. After graduating highschool, he went to a general college and attended without any real goal in mind.

After almost 3 years, he'd gone back home to hang out with his family- mother, father, and younger brother. They'd taken a walk around the city for a late dinner together- only to be involved in an accident. While crossing the road, a car came rushing around the corner and crashed into Bastien and his father who'd been conversing a few feet behind the other two. For Bastien, everything went black- he didn't know what'd happened, and was rightfully confused when he woke up back at his house with the rest of his family. Before he could really soak in what was happening, his parents began explaining their family lineage. It didn't make sense at first- something about Ancient Egypt and cats... youth forever, transformation... and cats. He couldn't think straight or focus on anything they were trying to tell him, still trying to process prior events. He accused them of insanity, becoming upset as he refused to acknowledge their answers. This upsetting situation, though, triggered his transformation, which ultimately sealed the debate on his species. Of course, this didn't exactly settle well with him and he found it stressful to do anything.

However, his parents said they had a solution- a University designed to help monster learn about the world. He refused at first, but there wasn't much else he could do. After a few days of self-confinement to the house without control over when he'd shift, he hesitantly agreed to TRY the strange, demented University and was set to board a special Vessel to sail to the island. Not before being sedated to keep him from transforming in front of humans. When he came back to his senses, he was in a large office, sitting in front of a dodgey looking man with his family. Before he could question anything though, the man smiled and offered him a smile before answering everything with one phrase.

"Welcome to Hellsgate University, Mr. Rahal~"
