Oh, how much I miss London right now. And I'm NOT meaning the fancy glittering London for tourists, no.

i find it interesting that "Rule, Britannia!" came as a leftover from a masque called Alfred (about afred the great), which was kinda done for Frederick, Prince of wales (son of George II, second king of the german Hanovarian line), and was widely used to exemplyfy britshness against the continent, namely, during the later years of the 19th centuary, against the germans...

Up until now the only "prom" I was familiar with was the formal dance held for upperclassmen in U.S. high schools, haha. Thanks for enlightening me - it's great to see such a popular event series enriching people's lives with classical music! Something we could all use a little more of, I think.
Would love to visit Britain one day, as well as Germany. Both are countries of my ancestors. >^.^<
