My, how time flies...
It's been four years since I submitted this picture .

A while ago back, I went through that gallery, and realized that a lot of those pretty good ideas were hampered by inexperience as an artist/illustrator/cartoonist/what-have-you. And I was kinda resolved to fix some of that, so I came up with this.

I picked Kid Flash over the actual Flash, because I felt that he (particularly Bart Allen) was the only one who would challenge Sonic to a race and take it seriously (ironically). I also felt that he and Sonic were more relateable to each other than Sonic to any of the other Flashes (except maybe Wally in his "DCAU" faze).

So the story here, is that Bart has caught on to the legend of Sonic, and decides to challenge him to a race for fun.

The title is a pun on their particular elemental associations: Sonic and the Wind, and the flash and Lightning
