Well, I know Jet predicted this would happen a couple of issues ago, and as I hinted in my teasers, she was right. Stone is willing to sacrifice himself to ensure that Malacari and the Shadow Forge are destroyed forever... By ironically drowning the madman in his own ink.
Alpha, being the kind hearted kid that he is, tries to convince Stone to come with him, but he turns it down. Oh yeah, Stones real name, as you may have forgotten, was actually Sandy Pritchard. And speaking of real names, this is one of the only occasions where Stone ever used Alpha's name, instead of his Black Forge number (008). It's supposed to be emotional?
By the way, if you think it looks weird to see Maurice wearing nothing but his (unnecessary) glasses, don't be concerned. It is. Sonic looks pretty good in that outfit though!
Well, two more pages, and then we're into the epilogue. Also, Sally and Antoine are on the next page.
