Aang loses his lifelong pet, Katara loses her lifelong love, Sokka loses his sister, and Suki loses HER lifelong love! how can Toph not cry over losing all her friends?!

Time for some random trivia about aang's death.
The reasong for aangs relatively early death was caused by his 100 year cyrogenical state within the iceberg. During the entire time he was in the avatar state, which means he was in the state for a hundred years, the longest time any avatar has ever been in the state. It was speculated this pro-longed use drastically decreased his lifespan and longevity.

But all of the other characters are dead during Legend of Korra also. I figure people just don't live that long in the series- I mean, in Asia in the time when most of the things of this series would have been everywhere, people really didn't live that long at all.
Which is why I felt better when I heard that all the other Gaang was also dead... -sheepish- I was depressed at first because I thought "WHY MIKE AND BRIAN? WHY WOULD YOU LET SUCH A SWEET CHARACTER DIE SO YOUNG???"
But if all of them were dead, then I guess it wasn't really that kind of thing.

But the Legend of Korra was apparently supposed to have a lot of flashbacks about the characters after the war (Zuko and Ursa?) Mike and Brain probably wanted a fresh start
