Aang in the movie was ONLY happy during and before they went to the air temple. That was it. No more smiles and excitement after that.
And Katara.... Was just there. Like seriously. All she did was stand there, and fight sometimes. And stand there. And stand there. And stare at Aang or in the distance or at Sokka or whoever her narrating voice was talking about.
