Why does Movie!Aang always look so sad and grim in the trailers? Clearly, the boy is not reaching his hug quota! QUICKLY, EVERYONE HUG AANG!LOL POOPSHOES. Yaaay Family Guy!

The fate of the world rests in his hands. He's not allowed to have fun anymore. Or happiness. He must be serious and seriously take those fire nation beotches out. With no smiling. Smiling not allowed.
But yeah, the thing I love about the cartoon is its excellence in humor. It's what gives the show's characters their charm. And makes them interesting. And part of the point of Aang's character is that he IS just a goofy kid. He even admits to this in one of the episodes. Yeah. I don't think I'm really diggin' the movie's melancholy tone...
I guess we'll just have to wait and find out. But I will say this: to suck the humor out of Avatar is to suck the life out of Avatar.

What? He doesn't look sad in the film that often. He looks mostly serious... 1: Probably because he's a monk, 2: Probably because he just found out his whole race is DEAD, and 3: PROBABLY because now not only is he the Avatar but the world is at WAR and he has to stop it!
Yeah, good time for Penguin sledding. That was something that should be left in a cartoon. But EMO? There's sad, devistated, depressed and emo. Four different things. This is no where near EMO! What an insult. People started trying to be cool, lead to smoking, sex (diseases and babies) and violence. No people will think they can't ever be sad. We're leading into a healthier future! XD lmfao!
Personally, I find that the movie Aang is just being cooler.

I'm assuming no one here has seen the clips of his crazy slides and hops while fighting or his big smile with his sensei. And I'm willing to be I'm right when I say no one has viewed the scene where he first wakes up when Sokka and Katara find him in the film yet. Yeah. lol

Well, in the actual show, Aang was sad for like ten minutes about his race but his naturally good-natured disposition made him forget about it. She's just saying in the ones she saw, he looked way more serious. And also, it's an internet joke for the sake of humour.

Yeah but the show was a cartoon for starters. This is live action. You know, suppose to seem more real? A kid who can discover he skipped 100 years, find out not only is everyone he knew dead but most were killed and his kind isn't even alive anymore in the present. There's a war going on and people are dying and suffering and it all depends on him. Yeah, if the movie had him get over it in 10 minutes that'd be really stupid. XD
What do you mean "lighten up"? I'm not upset over anything. I get the joke. It's a little funny. But I know there's true feelings and thoughts behind certain redundant jokes and I'm just informing people of what should already be known by common sense.
